How Demi Lovato Is Bucking Tradition With Her Wedding Dress Choice

Demi Lovato is living her best life right now and enjoying every second of being engaged to her boyfriend Max Ehrich — and that includes a little bit of wedding planning! While setting a date and most of the major event decisions for the big day have been put on hold thanks to COVID-19 concerns, that doesn't mean that Lovato, who got engaged just two months ago, isn't spinning with ideas for her eventual union (via Yahoo Entertainment). Understandably, most of her plans are still in the early stages, but like any eager bride-to-be, the "OK Not To Be OK" singer has "started looking at wedding dresses." According to a recent interview she did with Pop Crush, her taste is leaning towards the unconventional (via PopSugar).

During the interview that aired earlier this week she described a bit of her dream dress, revealing, "I have my image for what I would want it to [look like] if I got to do a big celebration. I don't wanna give it away but it's definitely not a white dress." That couldn't be more perfect for the songstress who has always incorporated an edgier look to her style choices (via Life & Style).

Modern blush dresses, sequins, and bold floral prints are trending in bridal couture

By now, the list of celebrities that went the unconventional route for wedding dress colors is long. That includes Jessica Biel's famous pink Giambattista Valli one-of-a-kind gown and Amber Tamblyn's marigold colored dress with a plunging neckline and cream train. The options are seemingly endless when access to designers and cost aren't an obstacle.

If Demi Lovato is looking to bridal couture for inspiration, there are lots of unconventional colors and styles trending this year, including modern blush gowns that feature either feathers or tiers of ruffled tulle, bold floral and butterfly prints, and sequins in every possible metallic shade (via Brides and The Knot). From short dresses to rompers, and pants with overlaid skirts, the options are truly endless. The 28-year-old singer could even choose to design something entirely herself! While the fashion world waits for the official unveiling, there's one thing that's certain, whatever Demi Lovato chooses she'll look stunning, as always.
