The Truth About Naya Rivera's Sister Nickayla
Months after the tragic disappearance and death of Glee star Naya Rivera in July, her family is still in mourning. One of the devastated loved ones she left behind is her sister, Nickayla Rivera. Nickayla penned a heartbreaking tribute to her sister after her death.
"There are no words to describe my love for you," she wrote on Instagram. "Side by side or miles apart, our connection is infinite. Our bond is unbreakable. We were complete opposites, yet simultaneously the same. The yin to my yang. I never knew that by losing you, I would find so much of you in myself. "
Nickayla continued, "I've never known a life without you in it & still can't imagine it. My world is turned upside down. But through it all, everything we were, we are still. I'll always look at you with the same eyes as I did when I was young. My shmaya, I'll love you for eternity & miss you every second of my life."
Nickayla Rivera is 'showing up' for Naya's son
While not as famous as her older sister, Nickayla also has experience in front of the camera. Nickayla is 5'11, according to her profile at the prestigious Wilhelmina modeling agency's website.
Nickayla has caused quite a stir lately as she has been spotted with River's ex- husband, Ryan Dorsey, with whom Rivera shared custody of their son, Josey. The Daily Mail reported that the two moved in together, but the reason for their close bond is a heartbreaking one. Dorsey explained in an Instagram video that Nickayla is simply supporting him and 5-year-old Josey. Dorsey called himself "lucky" to have Nickayla's support. ″And to have a young woman who is his blood and tití, who is willing to put her life on hold and sacrifice things, uproot her situation for the betterment of your child so when you put your child to bed, you don't always have to be alone with your thoughts,″ he said.
Nickayla also clapped back on Instagram. ″In the darkest time of my life, the only thing that is important is my friends & family," she said on her Story (via People). "Showing up for my nephew even though I can't show up for myself. I'm not concerned with the ways things look because no one can see each agonizing moment we all endure. What matters most I've learned, is to show compassion, not to judge others and never take a moment for granted. I hope you all can do the same."
