Rebel Wilson Continues To Stun As She Nears Her Weight Loss Goal

Rebel Wilson is continuing to impress fans as she works hard to achieve her fitness goals. In the caption of a recent Instagram post, in which she can be seen wearing workout clothes, the actress revealed that she is just a few pounds away from reaching her goal weight.

"Happy Sunday everyone!" wrote Wilson. "Gearing up for a great week ahead... this week was super busy but I got up super early 3 times and went on a hike...even did a couple of 100m sprints to get the heart rate even higher (although my 'sprint' is probably someone else's 'slow jog' ) but I felt proud of myself and now only 3kg's away from my goal weight!"

In May, Wilson revealed in a now-deleted Instagram post (via Us Weekly) that she is working towards a goal weight of 75 kilograms, which is equivalent to 165 pounds. "Even if you have to crawl towards your goals, keep going x it will be worth it," she said. "Try and give a little bit of effort each day. I know some days are frustrating as hell, you feel like giving up, you get annoyed at the lack of progress... but good things are coming your way."

Rebel Wilson has been working towards her goal weight for years

Wilson has been on a fitness journey for some time. In March 2019, her former personal trainer, Gunnar Peterson, told Us Weekly that Wilson was working hard at the gym. "She is crushing!" he said."Never misses [a workout]. Comes in even on travel days and right when she gets back. She is locked in! I love working with her!"

Peterson revealed that Wilson had been working with him since 2018 and that he had been subjecting her to a pretty intense workout. "Lots of strength work with dynamic intervals spliced throughout," he said. "Think sled work, Technogym's SkillRun treadmill with sled and parachute protocols, focus mitts, moving kicks to pads, rope work, vertical rope work, sledgehammers. He added that Wilson's workout routine consists of "any and everything to keep her body guessing and her mind engaged!"

Peterson said that while Wilson's workout was tough, they still had fun "During the workout it's work," he said. "But in between, we're going to trade a pleasantry or a joke or a jab. Rebel's right there with you. She's clever and funny and smart. I love being around people like that. That's why I like this job."

Rebel Wilson is following the Mayr Method

A source told People that Wilson has been following the Mayr Method diet plan ever since visiting the detox and wellness center VivaMayr in 2019. Wilson reportedly had "amazing results" after visiting the center, and has stuck to the diet plan since to help her reach her weight loss goals. Per Jezebel, the strict, high alkaline diet plan focuses on slowly eating whole foods. Followers of the diet are encouraged to chew each bite of food thirty times before swallowing.

The Pitch Perfect star is now working with trainer Jono Castano, who has worked with many celebrities to help them achieve body transformations. Castano has been working with Wilson to change her lifestyle.

"I think with any type of transformation, you shouldn't always look at the easiest option, you know, two months is not enough time to be able to change your body," he told Yahoo!. "A transformation is never ending, the journey always continues, so you can never give yourself 10, 12 weeks. Because it just continues, once you reach your goal then what? Then you're going to stop? You can't stop it becomes a lifestyle, you continue and you become the best version of yourself as cliche as it sounds.

Rebel Wilson gained weight to help her career

In 2016, Rebel Wilson revealed that she gained weight early in her career to help her land roles. She explained to The Telegraph that when she was just starting out, she played tennis and had an athletic build. After writing her first play, which she starred in alongside another woman who was heavier than her, she realized that her co-star was "getting a lot of laughs" even though she didn't believe there was "much different in talent."

Wilson continued, "And I remember distinctly thinking: 'I think it's because she's fatter'. And then, I don't know if it was mega-conscious, but I thought: 'How can I get more laughs? Maybe if I was a bit fatter...' And then suddenly I was fatter, and doing comedy." Wilson added that she also has a hormonal imbalance that causes her to gain weight quickly.

Wilson may be transforming her body, but she has never been ashamed of her size. "I saw my size as being an advantage whereas so many women see it as a disadvantage," she said.
