What You Didn't Know About Emily Ratajkowski's Husband

Emily Ratajkowski and her husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard, make quite the striking couple. Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard tied the knot in 2018, after just weeks together, as noted by People. The marriage wasn't quite as out-of-the-blue as fans may have thought. While their courtship was brief, Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard had known each other for some time before the wedding.

"We knew each other for a long time before, and he likes to joke, like, 'Yeah, everyone thinks we got married quickly, but you vetted me for two years, so...'" Ratajkowski said on Busy Philipps' talk show Busy Tonight (via W Magazine).

The couple seems to have been going strong since then. While, like any couple, Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard face challenges, Ratajkowski revealed in an Instagram Q&A (via Life & Style) how they handle conflict. "COMMUNICATION!" she wrote. "Remembering we're ultimately on each other's sides and trusting each other."

Emily Ratajkowski's husband keeps a low profile

While Bear-McClard isn't as famous as Ratajkowski, he's a celeb in his own right. Per IMDb, he's active in the entertainment industry, primarily as a producer. As a producer, Bear-McClard has worked on projects like Heaven Knows What, Good Time, and Uncut Gems. His acting credits include roles in Force of Circumstance, Buffalo Wings, There's Nothing You Can Do, and Heave Knows What.

As noted by Elle, Bear-McClard's now-locked Instagram account was previously linked to Elara Pictures, an NYC indie film studio co-founded by Bear-McClard. The outlet reported that he appears to have worked on some big projects, like music videos for Jay-Z and Oneohtrix Point Never.

Bear-McClard keeps a lower profile than his wife, although when he had a public Instagram he reportedly had more than 43,000 followers, including celebs like The Weekend and, of course, Ratajkowski.

Emily Ratajkowski and her husband want to raise their baby without gender stereotypes

In an essay for Vogue on October 26, Ratajkowski revealed that she and Bear-McClard are expecting their first child. They're thrilled to be parents, and the model and actress said that they will not be announcing their baby's gender for a powerful reason.

"When my husband and I tell friends that I'm pregnant, their first question after 'Congratulations' is almost always 'Do you know what you want?'" wrote Ratajkowski. "We like to respond that we won't know the gender until our child is 18 and that they'll let us know then. Everyone laughs at this. There is a truth to our line, though, one that hints at possibilities that are much more complex than whatever genitalia our child might be born with: the truth that we ultimately have no idea who — rather than what — is growing inside my belly. Who will this person be? What kind of person will we become parents to? How will they change our lives and who we are? This is a wondrous and terrifying concept, one that renders us both helpless and humbled."

Ratajkowskii added, "I like the idea of forcing as few gender stereotypes on my child as possible."
