The Truth About Rebel Wilson And Jacob Busch's Relationship

Hollywood's reigning funny girl Rebel Wilson has gone from starring in our favorite rom-coms to finding her own love story. Although the leading lady taught us "how to be single," her budding romance with entrepreneur Jacob Busch is giving us major relationship goals.

The Australian-born comedic actress has admitted to being unlucky in love. In fact, she dished to Good Morning America that she listened to dating books on tape for advice. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that she is basking in the glow of her newfound love. "Rebel's beyond happy, she really appreciates how supportive he is and of course he's very easy on the eyes too," a source told Hollywood Life.

As of now, Busch seems like a real-life prince charming, always supportive of Wilson, even cheering her on as she reaches her goal weight. The businessman is also successful in his own right and can keep up with her funny side, which makes their union work. We are here to watch her fairytale unfold! Here is the truth about Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch's relationship.

Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch were introduced by mutual friends

The couple's friends actually made the love match happen. A source told Radar Online that Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch met through mutual pals at a Hollywood bungalow, which helped them establish a bond. "They have friends in common so right away there was a mutual trust there," a source told Hollywood Life. Their first date was at Catch, a trendy seafood restaurant in Santa Monica.

Some major sparks must have been flying on that first dinner date because, a month later, the adorable pair progressed to an evening at the theater. Radar posted photos of their date, where they attended the musical Cats in Hollywood. In the pictures, the new couple poses with the show's cast onstage. This was very fitting since Rebel Wilson starred in the movie adaption of Cats in 2019. At the time, she told People, "I'm not a sexy Catwoman. I'm doing the middle-aged lazy cat in the movie."

The lovebirds went public with their love in 2020, although they actually met in 2019. This is ironic because she told Good Morning America in early 2019, "I need to get more love into my life, and I might need some professional help."

How Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch made their relationship red carpet official

When it came time to make their relationship official, Rebel Wilson did it in style. The actress stepped out on the red carpet with her new beau Jacob Busch for the first time in Monaco, which only happens to be one of the wealthiest countries in the entire world (via Business Insider). The pair attended Prince Albert of Monaco's Gala for Planetary Health together on Sept. 24, 2020. "They were very close all night, and didn't leave one another's company," a party guest told People. The star-studded affair's guest list also included Dame Helen Mirren, Kate Beckinsale, and Andy Garcia.

As for the couple's outfits that evening, they turned heads with their sartorial choices. The talented actress wore a metallic off-the-shoulder Rene Ruiz Collection gown, designed by Luis Escudero, while her partner wore a stylish tuxedo, according to People.

Earlier that day, Wilson debuted her new man in an Instagram photo on their way to the lavish event. The month prior, she gave fans a glimpse of Busch in her Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of them at the wedding of former TV host Carly Steel and Snapchat executive Jacob Andreou (via AOL).

They initially self-quarantined in separate countries

After meeting in 2019, Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch were forced to be apart during the imposed quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the start of the virus in early 2020, Wilson was in her $3.7 million home in Australia (via Daily Mail), posting photos on Instagram, while Busch stayed in Los Angeles. It was after Wilson returned to the States that she and Busch reunited in California and their relationship became more serious, according to People.

These two have proven that absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder. And although the lockdown could have been detrimental to their fledgling relationship, it apparently made them that much stronger. A source told Hollywood Life, "But in a weird way being so far apart helped them get closer because both their lives were slowed way down and they had all this time to really get to know each other."

Even though they could not see each other physically, they still kept the lines of communication open to strengthen their initial spark. "They talked nearly every day, even with the crazy time difference and he really proved himself to be reliable," the source continued to Hollywood Life.

Rebel Wilson's boyfriend, Jacob Busch, knows how to treat his lady

A source close to the pair dished to People that Jacob Busch is not only loving, but also respectful of his other half. "He's a gentleman, has very old school manners and treats her well," the source said. His personality seems perfect for Rebel Wilson, who said on Good Morning America that she feels it's important for men to do nice things to show they care. "You doing me a small favor weirdly makes you closer to me, psychologically," she said. "So girls, get the guy to hold your handbag, hold your jacket, just do a small favor for you."

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Busch knows how to take care of his lady. In his free time, he is very philanthropic and lends a hand to help others in need. He serves as a West Coast ambassador to the Busch Family Foundation (via People). The organization's events benefit places like the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, The Boys & Girls Club, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. "My primary focus is philanthropy with all the charities I am involved with," he told Forbes.

Jacob Busch comes from a famous family

If you think you've heard Jacob Busch's last name before, you probably have. That is because it is synonymous with a famous brand of alcoholic beverages. Beer essentially runs through Busch's bloodline as his great, great grandfather started Anheuser-Busch in the 1800s. It is now one of the nation's leaders in the industry, and owns brands like Budweiser and Stella Artois.

In 2017, Jacob Busch tried his own hand in the business and started Barrels & Sons Brewery with two friends in Napa, Calif., according to Forbes. During its founding, Busch told Forbes about his mission. "Like my Grandfather, August Busch Jr. always said, 'making friends is our business,'" he explained. "That's what I want to bring back into the community in Napa and eventually throughout the U.S."

According to his Instagram profile, the businessman sweetened his resume by founding Napp's, a dairy-free ice cream company in Los Angeles. While Busch is focusing on starting food and beverage companies, his girlfriend, Rebel Wilson, is also dipping her toes into entrepreneurship. The fashionista started her own clothing line for curvy women. "He's entrepreneurial and they're both very business-minded," a source told People of the career-driven pair.

Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch take time off from their busy careers to have fun

If you've ever seen Rebel Wilson on screen, it's clear that she knows how to find the joy in life. And it seems that she has found her partner in crime when it comes to having fun in Jacob Busch. A source close to the couple told Hollywood Life that they are truly enjoying one another. "They're having so much fun together and everyone's hoping that this will last, because Rebel has never been happier," the source said. This is apparent in the playful duo's first Halloween photo together, in which they posed in skeleton-like makeup.

When the comedienne is not on set and Busch is not starting new businesses, they carve time out of their schedules for romantic getaways. In October 2020, the pair traveled to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico and posted an Instagram photo of themselves on the beach.

Although Wilson admitted to BUILD Series that she once vacationed with a romantic interest and it led to a breakup, hopefully this relationship will last. "I've taken someone on a very luxurious overseas holiday, paid for everything, like first class flights ... not sure I'd do that again," she said.

They support each other's fitness goals

Rebel Wilson has always wanted a boyfriend who exuded strength. In a 2019 interview with Us Weekly, she said, "If I feel like I could beat them in a jelly wrestling competition, then maybe that's not the dude for me." By looking at Jacob Busch's toned body shots on Instagram, it's clear she got her wish!

The two support one another in their health goals, and they even coordinate workouts together. New fitness junkie Wilson took to Instagram to post a photo of the couple donned in exercise outfits with the caption, "Early morning exercise with JB."

Busch's commitment to his physical appearance makes it easy for Wilson to celebrate her "Year of Health" and work toward her goal of losing 165 pounds. Her foray into weight loss and her stunning transformation began on the set of Cats, where she told Entertainment Tonight she "lost eight pounds in four days." That jumpstarted her desire to shed more weight, so she hired trainer Jono Castano Acero. He told Hollywood Life about their rigorous routine, which includes squats, rope slams and bike riding. "During our training sessions we have a lot of fun," he said.

Rebel Wilson is older than Jacob Busch by 11 years

Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch prove that age is just a number, as Wilson is 11 years older than her boyfriend (via Page Six). Although there is a gap of over a decade between the twosome, it doesn't seem to pose a threat to the relationship.

And just because Wilson is older, that doesn't mean she has more dating experience than Busch. In fact, she told Us Weekly that she "didn't really date anybody" while she was in her 20s, which was "probably why [she's] still single." As she entered her 30s, however, she realized that the time had come to look for love. In February 2019, she admitted to BUILD Series that she was "not getting any younger" and had to put herself out there in the dating world. She also revealed the statistic that the average marrying age in New York is 40, which meant she still had a chance at settling down.

Although he's more than a decade her junior, Busch is already settled in his career, so that presumably helps their relationship work. A source told People that he is "someone who has his own life and success and isn't intimidated by her."

Rebel Wilson isn't too shy to admit she has great chemistry with Jacob Busch

When it comes to referencing her steamy sex life, Rebel Wilson doesn't hold anything back. In early October 2020, less than two weeks after debuting Jacob Busch as her boyfriend, she captioned an Instagram photo of them with the suggestive line, "We do a lot of exercise together."  She ended the sentence with a tongue-out emoji, making it obvious that she was making a sexual innuendo to their time spent in the bedroom. Fans noticed her play on words and commented with jokes like, "It's not horizontal running anymore, but something else," and "Hottie alert! I would be enticed to do a lot of 'exercise' as well!" (via The Sun).

Those close to the flirty pair acknowledge that their physical connection is palpable. "They have amazing chemistry and seem to enjoy the same things," a source told PeopleRebel Wilson has gone through a stunning transformation, and it could be because she met the love of her life. In 2019, she told InStyle, "I've kind of grown into my looks. Or maybe I'm just taking a bit more pride in my appearance now ... particularly when you're dating, you do need to pay attention."

Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch are both worth millions

Although Jacob Busch's fortune comes from a long line of wealth, for Rebel Wilson, her wealth was self-made. She credits her drive to her humble beginnings. "I think it comes from not having much as a child and seeing other people have stuff and just wanting to be financially secure," she told InStyle

From starring in blockbusters, such as Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect, and JoJo Rabbit, she has amassed a net worth of $22 million. After she hit it big, she bought multiple homes and currently has $16 million worth of properties in Australia, Los Angeles, and New York, according to the Daily Mail. She even spent $70,000 on installing an elevator in her home in Sydney (via Daily Mail).

The affable actress predicted her success story from an early age. "And, weirdly, I always believed I would be rich and successful even as a very young child, and I would say that to people. If you manifest [what you want], I really do think it comes true," she told InStyle. As for Busch, he is worth a staggering $100 million. With a combined net worth of $122 million, it's not surprising that they enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.

Jacob Busch and Rebel Wilson share a love of animals

Part of Jacob Busch's family properties include the 281-acre Grant's Farm, so it's natural that he has a fondness for animals. In 2018, he posted an Instagram photo of a beloved elephant who lived on their farm and had passed away. "It's been about a month since we lost Budweiser, our elephant. Bud played a large part in the Busch family," he captioned the shot. "He was our family."

Interestingly, Rebel Wilson's parents worked as professional dog handlers, which is perfect since Busch is a dog owner. His Instagram page is replete with pictures of his pet pup, Napoleon. Unfortunately, this could potentially pose a problem for Wilson, who is sadly allergic. She posted on Twitter, "I just found out I'm allergic to dogs and cats.. thank god not unicorns or koalas..."

The actress must have her allergies under control, however, because, in 2019, it was announced she would host an Australian reality show about competition dog groomers called Pooch Perfect (via TheWrap). When the news broke, Wilson posted on Twitter that she was "so stoked" to be a part of the project. And given his love of his own furry friend, Busch must be excited as well!

Rebel Wilson and Jacob Busch boast some seriously famous friends

The famous couple has friends in high places, and they like to show them off! In fact, on the same Instagram post where Rebel Wilson first debuted her new love, she also flaunted her movie star crew. The photo included A-list actresses Helen Mirren and Kate Beckinsale as they all traveled to Monaco together.

Wilson's Instagram page reads like a who's who of the entertainment industry, with photos of celebrity friends like Joaquin PhoenixBrad Pitt, and Scarlett Johansson. So only time will tell if Jacob Busch will be socializing with these Hollywood luminaries in the near future. The loveable actress is so well-liked in her field that she even gets asked to dinner with famous couples. While she was promoting the 2019 film Isn't It Romantic, Wilson revealed that her co-star Liam Hemsworth's wife at the time, Miley Cyrus, whose love life has been rocky, invited her out for Valentine's Day. "I think she should've asked Liam before," she told Good Morning America. "If I get desperate, great option."

They both have exes in the entertainment industry

Rebel Wilson is not the first woman Jacob Busch has dated in show business. He coupled up with former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof on and off starting in 2013, according to the New York Post. At the time, he was 24, while she was 52. This sparked much speculation over their union, but Maloof defended their relationship. "When you meet someone they don't have a number on their forehead," she told E! News

In 2017, as reported by the Daily Mail, Rebel Wilson dated Aden Stay, a Hollywood stuntman whose resume includes Hawaii Five-0, Daredevil, and Pitch Perfect 3. Before that, she was in a relationship with producer Mickey Gooch Jr., whom she worked with on How to Be Single (via Life & Style), but they split in late 2015, after just a few months of dating, according to Us Weekly. In 2020, Gooch acknowledged their relationship when he posted a throwback photo with Wilson on Instagram with the caption, "Just a casual balcony pic next to this angel above a raging party in Ibiza."

Before Jacob Busch, Rebel Wilson said men were intimidated by her sense of humor

In the past, Rebel Wilson has blamed her sense of humor for preventing her from finding love. Through her experience with the opposite sex, she came to the shocking conclusion that men can feel intimidated by funny women. "If you've got the ability to make people laugh, you have an inherent sense of power with that," she told The Independent. "And sometimes men feel uncomfortable with women having that."

Although she's always been interested in pursuing funny men, the feelings have not always been reciprocated. This has been baffling to the Hollywood funny girl, and it caused her to question why that was the case. "Do they think I'm gonna make a joke about them at the Baftas or something?" she asked The Independent.

As for Jacob Busch, he doesn't seem put off by his partner's ability to make people laugh. In fact, he seems to give her a run for her money in the comedy department. "This is the first guy she's met who is a match for her humor and personality," a source told People.
