Why These Two Stars Are Leaving Vanderpump Rules

Vanderpump Rules has seen a lot of upheaval in the past few months. Back in July, cast members Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni were fired from the show following racist incidents. Now, Jax Taylor and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, are also leaving the show.

Schroeder and Doute were let go due to an incident in which they called the police on former castmate Faith Stowers. "There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African American lady," Stowers explained on an Instagram Live chat in June. "It was a weird photo, so she looked very light-skinned and had these different, weird tattoos. They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from actually Stassi during an interview."

After Schroeder and Doute were fired, Stowers said she'd also like to see Bravo fire Jax Taylor from the show. "He's said very, very mean things to new cast members. He did not receive me and Lala Kent very well when we first started," she told ET. "He said very mean things to us as well, later on apologizing. But it seems like he continues to get away with everything he does and I'm not sure why, especially at his age. It's not like he's doing this as a young adult, as a kid and just making these little mistakes young people sometimes do."

Did Taylor's behavior finally catch up with him? Taylor and Cartwright didn't reveal why they're departing from the show, but TMZ claims they were fired while Bravo merely confirmed that they won't be returning to the reality show. "The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life," wrote Taylor on Instagram. "Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules."

Cartwright shared the same news on her own Instagram. Neither commented on whether or not they are leaving the show voluntarily or if they've been fired, but both said that they're looking forward to focusing on their "growing family." Cartwright and Taylor are currently expecting their first child (via Page Six) so if they're leaving voluntarily, it may be to give themselves some space to adjust to parenthood.
