NeNe Leakes Is Rallying Her Fans To Call Out Bravo

NeNe Leakes is one of the most memorable stars across the entire Real Housewives' franchise, thanks to her consistently entertaining, drama-fueling behavior. During the season 12 virtual reunion of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Leakes spectacularly shut her laptop and walked off, explaining in a subsequent YouTube video that she would not be back. "I have been on an extremely, extremely long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation," Leakes explained.

Just a few weeks later, Leakes responded to a fan request for her own spinoff series with this assertion: "They [Bravo] don't think I deserve to work at all in any [capacity]" (via Twitter). The former RHOA star has left the show before, of course, as long-time viewers can attest. She wasn't a full-time cast-member after season 7, but resumed her position in season 10. However, after Leakes' most recent comments, it seems highly unlikely she'll return to the fold once more.

NeNe Leakes claims she was mistreated on RHOA

Once again taking to social media to air her grievances, Leakes tweeted ominously,"Y'all ready to start this boycott yet? What has happened behind the scenes is WRONG!" She elaborated, "While others were being promoted, BLACK WOMEN who created shows, created genres, built franchise and built networks were being DEMOTED...TURN OFF YOUR TV'S." The former RHOA star instructed fans to, "Sign the petitions when you see them, repost the boycott flyers when you see them, turn off your TVs," before sharing a petition accordingly. Close to 10,000 people have signed at the time of writing.

Although she initially claimed the decision was hers, Leakes revealed in October that she felt "forced off" the hit series. "I haven't done anything that no one else has done there or haven't done even worse. So, I don't deserve this treatment," she reasoned at the time (via Hollywood Life). Season 13 kicked off earlier this month, with stars Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, and Porsha Williams all returning alongside newcomers Drew Sidora and LaToya Ali. Leakes poked fun at a perceived ratings drop in a tweet on December 15, alongside a gif of herself from the show (via Twitter).
