Danielle Busby Reveals Tough Battle With Mystery Health Issue

Busy moms often say that they "can't afford to get sick," but sometimes life has other plans. Danielle Busby, one of the stars of TLC's Outdaughtered, has been in and out of the hospital for months with mysterious and troubling symptoms that have kept her from fully enjoying her life with her husband and six daughters (via Us Weekly). Her husband, Adam, recently posted a photo on Instagram showing Danielle on her back in a hospital bed. He explained that she had been readmitted for her "most invasive test so far." He added, "Praying it leads to answers and a clear direction for the doctors."

The day before, Danielle confirmed on an Insta story that she was, indeed, about to undergo an "intense test" (via Us Weekly). She explained that since her November visit to the ER for "alarming sensations" in her arms and legs, she has been seeing a number of specialists, including a cardiologist and rheumatologist, who ran tests of their own. "Some results have come back ok, and others...not so much," she wrote.

Both Busby parents explained that they're not ready just yet to elaborate on the details of her condition or the tests, and Adam asked on his Instagram that fans "refrain from speculation." They did, however, encourage their followers to pray for answers and for Danielle's return to health. The photo she shared on her Insta story showed her wrist with a hospital tag, a cross ring on her thumb, and a bracelet reading "Faith."

Danielle Busby has experienced other health issues

Despite the pain and fear she was surely feeling, Danielle still found joy in being with her bustling household over the holiday season. Her Instagram feed shows the family making ornaments at a local craft shop, posing in matching pajamas, playing games with extended family, and celebrating her late December birthday. She did, however, get some flak from concerned followers when she posted a picture of herself with three friends — without a mask in sight — at a restaurant where they'd eaten and listened to music. And just three days before this most recent test, Danielle had a lunch date with two of her 5-year-old quintuplets.

As In Touch Weekly notes, this isn't the first time the quint-plus-one mom has faced serious health issues. For years, Danielle struggled with polycystic ovary syndrome (POS), which causes cysts to form on the ovaries. The cysts would frequently rupture, causing her severe pain. As she explained on a YouTube video in 2019, she opted for a hysterectomy after medication and birth control failed to control the symptoms. "I'm just to the tipping point of, 'We're here, we need to take care of it, I'm ready to get this over with.'"

Adam concluded his latest message on Instagram writing, "We will definitely share updates as Danielle is comfortable." Considering how open the couple has been about their past struggles, fans probably won't have long to wait for further news.
