Here's How Much Cynthia Nixon Is Really Worth

Now that a Sex and the City revival has been announced, it's time to throw on a pair of Manolo Blahniks, sip on a cosmo, and welcome back Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda into our lives (via Variety). It's been over a decade since the last time we saw these best friends grace the silver screen in Sex and the City 2. Since then, Cynthia Nixon, who played the sarcastic and driven Miranda Hobbes, has definitely been working hard. You may remember back in 2018 when Nixon tried her hand at politics, running against Andrew Cuomo in the gubernatorial Democratic primary for New York (via The New York Times).

At the time of her announcement to run for Governor of New York, Nixon had an estimated $60 million net worth, according to Newsweek. That was almost three years ago, and according to Celebrity Net WorthNixon currently stands at a net worth of $25 million. That's a good deal less than what was reported in 2018, but with the announcement of the new Sex and the City reboot, things may once again change for the actor.

Nixon's upcoming projects could increase her net worth

According to Screen Rant, the stars of the upcoming Sex and the City reboot, titled And Just Like That ..., are looking to make more than $1 million per episode. That's significantly more than what Nixon was making during the original run of the series, which according to the Newsweek report was about $325,000 per episode. Not only will she be getting a raise, but Nixon, along with Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis, will be serving as executive producers of the new series (via Insider).

And Just Like That ... is expected to have 10 episodes, which means over $10 million for Nixon this year. Nixon has also been working on HBO's The Gilded Age (via Variety). The period drama was originally set to premiere this year, but with production getting pushed back due the pandemic, it may not debut until 2022, according to IndieWire

More recently, you may have seen Nixon in Netflix's Ratched series, which premiered last September (via Harper's Bazaar). According to Oprah Magazinea second season of Ratched has already been ordered, and Nixon's character could come back. There is no set date yet, so we'll have to wait and see — though with everything that Nixon has been doing lately, it seems there's a lot to look forward to.
