Royal Expert Has Harsh Words For Meghan And Harry Over Gayle King Chat

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey is causing major disruptions within the British royal family. And, according to Page Six, recent comments made by television host Gayle King have only made matters worse. Speaking on the breakfast show CBS This Morning on Tuesday, March 16, King revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex informed her that Prince Harry "has talked" to his brother Prince William and father Prince Charles since the CBS sit-down aired. However, she revealed those conversations were "not productive."

"I did actually call them to see how they are feeling, it's true, Harry has talked to his brother and his father, too," King revealed. "The word I was given was, those conversations were not productive. But they are glad they at least started a conversation," she concluded (via Metro).

Speaking to the Mirror, royal sources have since stated the revelations made by King "would cause alarm" among senior royals, adding, "This type of behaviour could have huge implications for trust between the camps moving forward."

King's comments were described as a shocking break of trust

In the statement to the U.K .newspaper, the royal source also confirmed that Buckingham Palace will not be providing any comment on the matter. "None of the households — the Queen, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge — will be giving a running commentary on private conversations," the source concluded (via The Mirror).

As The Sun reports, Royal biographer Penny Junor also shared her thoughts on King's comments regarding private conversations between Prince Harry and other senior members of the royal family. "It's a shocking breach of trust," she explained, adding, "The family will worry that anything they say to Harry will end up on American television." Elsewhere, Royal author Tom Quinn added to the discussion, saying the CBS host's comments are sure to have upset Buckingham Palace, adding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have "once again, shot themselves in the foot."
