Inside Hugh Grant's Relationship With His Wife

Hugh Grant has become known for winning hearts in romantic comedies such as Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones's Diary, Love Actually, and more (per IMDb). However, it's his own love life that has made headlines over the years. The actor has had a string of high-profile romances during his time as a leading man. Grant has dated some of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood. According to Ranker, the actor dated Elizabeth Hurley for over a decade before calling it quits with the Austin Powers star in 2000. He was also briefly linked to his Two Weeks Notice co-star Sandra Bullock. After working together on the movie Music and Lyrics, Grant was also rumored to be involved with actress Drew Barrymore.

In 2004 he began dating British television producer Jemima Khan, but the couple split after three years together. In 2011, Grant had a brief relationship with Tinglan Hong, with whom he shares two children. However, the most scandalous moment of the actor's love life came in 1995, when he was arrested after being caught with a prostitute named Divine Brown (via The Guardian). However, after years of claiming he wasn't interested in marriage, Grant finally walked down the aisle in 2018.

Hugh Grant's unconventional relationship with his wife

Hugh Grant has never been a big advocate for marriage. During a 2016 interview with Howard Stern, the actor made his thoughts on the subject clear. "I think there's something unromantic about marriage. You're closing yourself off," Grant stated (via People). However, just two years later he married Anna Eberstein. The couple has been involved for nearly a decade, and, after welcoming three children together, they opted to tie the knot. Grant revealed to USA Today that one of the biggest reasons behind their marriage was to make travel easier. "I didn't like going through immigration into countries where they'd say, 'Everyone with a Grant passport, over here, and all the others through there.' She went through with the nannies. That seemed all wrong," Grant admitted.

Although he's a married man now, Grant's position on marriage hasn't swayed much. However, he's managed to find a partner who shares his views. Grant reveals that Eberstein has similar thoughts about commitment. "My wife agrees with me that marriage is a pretty preposterous social construct. But when you've got three children, it's the nice thing to do," he said (via USA Today). However, when it comes to fatherhood, it's a different story, per Hello! "It's just lovely to have all that love around. Suddenly you love someone more than yourself. It's unheard of in my case and they love you and it's all enchanting," Grant said during a 2018 interview.
