"Everything had to happen in order for me to learn the lessons that I learned," she told People shortly before the documentary's premiere. "It was a painful journey, and I look back and sometimes I get sad when I think of the pain that I had to endure to overcome what I have, but I don't regret anything."

Ahead of the premiere of episode 3 on March 30, Lovato is getting even more candid about her private life, and during an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience, Lovato opened up about her sexuality and shared her thoughts on having children.

Demi Lovato can't picture herself pregnant at this point in her life

Speaking to former Fear Factor host, Demi Lovato opened up about the possibility of having children in the future, and revealed that she identifies as pansexual (via Page Six). "In this moment I want to adopt [children] for sure. I also don't know if I'm going to end up with a guy, so I can't really see myself even getting pregnant," she told Rogan (via Page Six). "I don't know. I'm so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was super closeted off. [I] felt a lot of shame because growing up in Texas as a Christian, that's very frowned upon. I shut it down before I even let myself process what I was feeling."

Lovato also touched on her whirlwind relationship with The Young and the Restless actor Max Ehrich – whom she got engaged to in July 2020 after four months of dating, then ended their engagement in September of the same year (via People). She told Rogan that she didn't picture her life to be the way it is today. "I was engaged to a man last year. I totally thought I'd be married, maybe pregnant right now, and that's not the case," she shared. "So I've just stopped kind of attaching myself to — I know that my life is not going according to my plan."
