Who Is Married At First Sight: Unmatchables Contestant Ervin?
The new Lifetime original series Married at First Sight: Unmatchables is set to premiere on April 21st at 10 p.m. ET. This spin-off series takes the successful MAFS format and revamps it. While the original show is an experiment that pairs strangers to wed and follows them for a few weeks as they decide whether or not they will stay together, Unmatchables plans to focus more on preparing its participants for future unions.
With the help of relationship experts, Dr. Viviana Coles and Pastor Calvin Robertson, who both work as counselors on MAFS, the "unmatchables" will get makeovers, go on dates, and try to find a sustainable romantic relationship (via Reality TV World). The series will follow 16 different individuals who were chosen from the pool of rejected applicants for MAFS. According to Deadline, MAFS currently has about 65,000 rejected applicants, meaning Umatchables should have a really interesting group this season.
Ervin is a runaway groom
Ebony released a full list of the cast for the series' first season, as well as spilled a little bit about what we can expect from each participant. From the look of Ervin's description, he has some serious trust issues. Ebony revealed that Ervin has already broken off four engagements, before even turning forty years old! The 37-year-old also reports that he runs away at the first sign of trouble in his relationships.
Ervin is a fitness trainer who is obsessed with maintaining a healthy lifestyle. While it's usually a good thing to want to maintain your physical health, this could be leading to an imbalance of attention to other areas of Ervin's life. Though Ervin's romantic track record does not seem promising, Dr. Coles and Pastor Robertson have proven that they have what it takes to whip their clients into shape. It'll be exciting to see if Ervin finally finds the person he wants to see walk down the aisle.
