90 Day Fiance: The Real Reason Angela And Michael Haven't Seen Each Other In 7 Months

Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi are one of the most entertaining couples to come out of the popular TLC franchise "90 Day Fiancé." They made their on-screen debut in Season 2 of "90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days" (via IMBD), have appeared on Season 7 of the original "90 Day Fiancé," and have been spotted in other installments of the franchise. Throughout their time on television, the pair has taken fans along on their difficult journey to the wedding aisle, and has made a name for themselves along the way.

The duo faced skepticism from their families, struggled with their large age gap, and encountered many difficulties while trying to get Ilesanmi's K-1 Visa. However, in Season 5 of "90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?" the pair decided to get married in Nigeria in hopes that tying the knot would make it easier for Ilesanmi to come back to the United States with Deem (via Entertainment Tonight). The newlyweds, as of publication, are starring in the latest season of "Happily Ever After," and have started providing much-needed updates on what's really going on.

Michael Ilesanmi has been stuck in Nigeria

In the Season 6 premiere of "90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After," Angela Deem revealed that she hadn't seen her husband, Michael Ilesanmi, in seven months (via TV Insider). Fans of the series will remember that Deem had to return to the States after her wedding to Ilesammi to take care of her sick mother (via Screen Rant), and unfortunately, Ilesammi couldn't go with her because he was still awaiting his spousal visa. Though Deem was hoping she would be able to return to Nigeria to visit her husband, the COVID-19 pandemic halted her plans.

While the pair appeared to be enjoying the early stage of their nuptials apart, they still managed to hold on to their penchant for arguing. The couple, as of publication, have recently been at odds over Deem's decision to get weight loss surgery — Deem believing it will make her happier and healthier, Ilesanmi believing she should save the money for a surrogate. It's clear from the season premiere that while these fan favorites may have entered a new stage of their lives together, they're still the same old couple we've grown to love.
