Royal Expert Suggests Archie May Do This On His Second Birthday
Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, online get-togethers and Zoom parties have become a thing, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be lining one up to mark their son Archie Harrison's second birthday.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl tells OK! that Princes William and Harry, as well as Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, will likely call a truce to mark Archie's special day with a Zoom playdate for the California-based toddler. "Harry is living a wonderful life in California, but he faces a challenge," Nicholl says. "He always wanted his children to grow up close to William and Kate's. That would be the childhood he enjoyed with his own cousins, Zara, Beatrice, and Eugenie. Sadly it's looking increasingly unlikely for Archie" (via Daily Charlotte News).
So even though the state of the brothers' relationship is not public, Nicholl says, " I find it hard to imagine that the Cambridge's won't at least pick up the phone on Archie's birthday" (via The Mirror).
Archie will likely talk to royal family via Zoom
Prince Harry has already revealed that Archie is no stranger to taking part in Zoom calls to speak to his royal relations across the Atlantic. During a guest appearance on "The Late Late Show," he told host James Corden that his family had taken part in Zoom calls with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and his late grandfather, Prince Philip. "Both my grandparents do zoom," Harry said at the time. "They've seen Archie running around." Harry also shared what is now undoubtedly a poignant memory of Prince Philip ending his calls just by shutting a laptop, saying, "My grandfather instead of pressing 'leave meeting' he just goes 'doof" (via People).
Given that the queen is comfortable with the idea of communicating via Zoom, the Daily Mail reports it expects that a call between the California-based Sussexes and Her Majesty will take place, too.
