Clare Crawley Shares A Heartbreaking Update About Her Mom

Former "Bachelorette" Clare Crawley took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking yet uplifting message about her mom Lilia in honor of Mother's Day. The reality star included a photo of herself kissing Lilia, along with a poignant caption.

"Sometimes it's too hard to put it into words, the gravity of the hole that Alzheimer's and dementia has left us with," Crawley wrote. "Names may not be remembered, and memories fade away, but one thing it will NEVER take away is the love between a mother and a daughter. Happy Mother's Day Mama."

Due to her Alzheimer's and dementia, Lilia lives in a long term care facility according to The Sun. Sadly, Crawley couldn't even see her mom for a stretch of time due to COVID-19 restrictions, with the star saying, "I'm sure a lot of people are experiencing this as well, but it's really hard for me to not be able to see her, to not be able to hug her. It's hard." The women were able to reunite in January per People.

Celebrity friends from "Bachelor" Nation as well as from Hollywood flocked to the comment section of Crawley's post to share their support for her on what must have been an emotionally challenging Mother's Day. Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt simply shared heart emojis, as did fellow former "Bachelorette" Deanna Stagliano.

Meanwhile, past contestant Olivia Caridi wrote, "Love you sweetie. happy Mother's Day to your beautiful mama!"Crawley's on-again-off-again fiancé, Dale Moss, even commented on the bittersweet post, writing, "Mama Lilia's light & love will never fade."

It's worth noting that tragically, Crawley's father died of brain cancer in 2004, according to Heavy. The two were reportedly very close, with the 40-year-old saying previously, "I am looking for a man that is just like my dad: strong, loving, gentle, compassionate, and just a real, genuine, kind man."
