Van Jones Has Something Surprising To Say About Kim Kardashian

Amidst her shock split from Kanye West, fans were rallying for Kim Kardashian to date somebody more her speed. The lawyer-in-training hasn't actually divorced the rapper just yet but, as Page Six reported, social media commentators reckon they've found the perfect partner for her already — CNN host Van Jones. They might seem like a bizarre match, but Kardashian and Jones have worked together extensively on the causes closest to both of their hearts, in particular prison reform.

Back in 2018, they attended the White House together while seeking a pardon for incarcerated grandmother Alice Johnson (the petition was ultimately successful). During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" the following year, Jones gushed his new BFF would make a fine lawyer because she is "incredibly persuasive and persistent." He also confirmed the two are in constant contact and speak often. Now, the respected journalist is speaking out about Kardashian once more.

The CNN host is totally in Kim Kardashian's corner

Many people scoffed at the idea of Kim Kardashian, of "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and shapewear-peddling fame, becoming a lawyer. Her buddy and fellow legal eagle, Van Jones, reckons she's got it in the bag. According to People, during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the beloved CNN anchor gushed that the reality star's studies are going amazingly well. He pointed out she's already used her platform to help free prisoners, noting Kardashian has always wanted to follow in her father, legendary attorney Rob Kardashian, in his footsteps. In fact, according to Jones, once the KKW Beauty founder "got a taste of what she could do using her platform, using her brain, she hasn't let up." As E! noted, the well-respected author thinks Kardashian will be "an unbelievable attorney." Jones even described her as "one of the best advocates that we have in criminal justice."

Meanwhile, her momager, Kris Jenner, said while on "Today With Hoda & Jenna" that the budding lawyer is coping really well and focusing on her studies in the wake of her devastating divorce (via E!). In a lengthy Instagram statement, Kardashian called out those who believe she's taking the easy route to getting a law degree, clarifying she's working hard to pass the bar and hopes to be an inspiration to other women. "The state bar doesn't care who you are," the beauty mogul stated. She also thanked Jones for his continued support, and belief in her.
