The Most Iconic Outfits In Bachelor History
The ladies of the "Bachelor" franchise go on the show to find love, but that doesn't mean they can't serve looks along the way. Whether they're the stars of the show in "The Bachelorette", or are vying for one man's love in "The Bachelor", fashion within the franchise quickly became a priority for the show.
Insider compiled a list of the franchise's best looks in its 25 seasons on ABC, highlighting looks from former Bachelorettes Rachel Lindsey and Becca Kufrin. But the list missed out on key fashion moments from the past two years. From Peter Weber's season of South American travel and conflicting decisions, to Matt James' historic season as the first Black bachelor, these past two years have brought along the drama and the looks.
And let's not forget Tayshia Adams' stunning "Bachelorette" fashion moments, including her sparkly first night dress and a black gown that was giving us major slit power, featured on Femestella.
Still, the ladies not in the spotlight made our jaws drop with the outfits we've compiled below. Whether wearing gowns during rose ceremonies or the perfect date-night looks, these ladies stole the Bachelor fashion show.
Chelsea Vaughn's powerful fur jacket and dress combo
Fan-favorite Chelsea Vaughn stole the show with her stunning gowns and perfect date outfits. Though she did not get nearly enough screen time during the show, the 28-year-old model was a contestant in Matt James' controversial season 25 of the show (via Cosmopolitan).
Vaughn served looks from night one, stunning the audience — and of course James — with an A'Kai Littlejohn strappy black dress. From then, her rose ceremony gowns quickly became fan favorites, with an off-the-shoulder pink velvet number, a white midi-dress with an asymmetrical top, and the famous yellow dress making Vaughn the season's best dressed (via MSN).
But perhaps her most iconic outfit was one she wore during the night-time portion of one of her group dates. Wearing the epitome of a cool-girl chic outfit, Vaughn paired an ASOS white furry coat with a black slip dress. The outfit caught social media's attention for its effortlessly cool look. And what's even better? The Brooklyn model showed how to shop on a budget, making the ASOS coat look worth thousands.
Tammy Kay Ly's stunning night one white lace gown
White lace gowns don't usually scream first date, but Season 24 Bachelor contestant Tammy Kay Ly not only made it work, but shined doing it. The 25-year-old Syracuse-based real estate agent waltzed into Peter Weber's night one wearing a stunning Alamour white lace gown. The off-the-shoulder dress featured a signature sweetheart neckline with a thigh-high slit, ready to conquer Weber's heart.
Although Ly was a fan favorite in the early episodes, she quickly became one of the seasons' many villains in the dreaded 2-on-1 date (via Refinery29). A travel lover and jetsetter at heart, her hopes of traveling the world with Pilot Pete were squashed when she was sent home. Since then, Ly has appeared on multiple Bachelor-franchise podcasts to talk about her experience being one of the few women of color in the franchise and in her season (via YouTube). After last summer, the franchise had to quickly reckon with its lack of racial diversity in both leads and contestants after multiple former members of the franchise spoke out on their own experiences.
Hannah Brown's plunging pink dress
Before Hannah Brown was the Bachelorette, she was a contestant on Colton Underwood's season of "The Bachelor". Known as the season's resident southern belle, Brown's most memorable outfit from Colton's season was her last dress of the season: a shiny pink gown with a plunging neckline (via BigBlondeHair). While some on social media criticized the dress' shoulder pads, the look took our hearts.
During her own season, Brown had her fair share of showstopper dresses, featuring epic cutouts, short sparkly numbers, and a statement white leather jacket (via YouTube). After a disappointing ending to "The Bachelorette," Brown joined "Dancing with the Stars" and ended up winning the beloved Mirror Ball Trophy at the end of the season. Trophy in hand, Brown's gowns did not disappoint (via Washington Post).
