We challenge you to think of a celebrity who wears more revealing clothing than the original influencer herself, Kim Kardashian. It's okay, we'll wait.
The reality star isn't shy when it comes to showing her body, be it on the red carpet, social media, or even as part of her products for KKW Fragrances. In fact, she even joked about her revealing style in 2018 when she won the Influencer Award at the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards, saying, "I'm kind of shocked that I'm winning a fashion award when I'm named most of the time" (via Marie Claire). At least she's self-aware! So, with permission from the star herself, here are some of Kim Kardashian's most inappropriate outfits.
Love for latex
Kim Kardashian is known for pushing boundaries and breaking fashion rules, and we think it's safe to say few have felt brave enough to don a look entirely made of latex as many times as Kim has. The reality star turned business mogul first shocked paparazzi with a skin-tight, chest-boosting latex look in 2014 at the launch of her fragrance Fleur Fatale (via Us). Since then, she's sported the unconventional fabric everywhere from Paris Fashion Week to the Met Gala (via Marie Claire).
An episode of "Keeping up with the Kardashians" even shows sister Kourtney Kardashian jumping on the latex look trend, as she and Kim attend Paris Fashion Week in similar autumn-toned latex jumpsuits. According to Insider, the pair even wore the outfits to Kanye West's Sunday Service; in a clip from the show, Kourtney pokes fun at the scandalous get-ups when she asks, "Who goes to church in latex?" and Kim responds, "We do!"
The Vatican dress
It would seem that in 2021 there's little celebrities could do to surprise their audience anymore — Kim Kardashian will take that as a challenge! The reality star faced a lot of backlash over a dress she wore to tour Vatican City on a trip to Italy in early July of 2021. The sheer, white lace dress sported an off the shoulder sleeve and what could only be described as "ovary-cutouts" exposing parts of her midriff and hips.
The controversy of the revealing dress was not lost on the SKIMS founder, as she assured her Instagram followers that she adhered to all Vatican dress code rules while in St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel (via InStyle). The Vatican's website states that, "sleeveless and/or low-cut garments, shorts above the knee, miniskirts, and hats are not permitted." Several of the shots in the star's Instagram post from the trip show her and travel companion Kate Moss sporting leather jackets to cover up inside.
'Naked' dresses
Kim Kardashian leaves little to the imagination when it comes to her fashion. The star is no stranger to showing off her assets, but even this dress turned heads at the 2015 Met Gala. Kim K wore an incredibly revealing, sheer white, long sleeved gown — complete with jewels and a train of feathers — designed by Robert Cavallo for the event (via Elle). The dress was strategically beaded to give at least the illusion of coverage.
The star has made the "naked dress" trend a staple of her show-stopping red carpet wardrobe. From her skin-tight, ripped black gown that she wore to sit front row at Balmain's spring show during 2017 fashion week, to the incredible all-lace Givenchy get-up she wore to show off her baby bump at the 2015 LACMA Art + Film Gala, the star knows how to make a little bit of fabric go a long way (via Marie Claire).
