Of All Of Demi Lovato's Looks - This Stands Above The Rest

Demi Lovato has been "doing some healing and self-reflective work" over the past year, according to NPR, which led to them coming out as nonbinary. Announcing their pronouns as they/them has allowed Lovato to best represent "the fluidity [they] feel in [their] gender expression." Of course, while they've just come out this year, Lovato has been fluid in their fashion choices for years.

From the Disney Channel to being a two-time Grammy nominee, the "Confident" singer has always experimented with different styles. They can rock a glamorous gown like their Ester Abner look at the 2017 American Music Awards (via PopSugar), while also showing up on the red carpet in powerful pantsuit, like the black and white Alexander McQueen suit they wore at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards (via Just Jared Jr.). Lovato truly is "sorry, not sorry" for staying glam for so many years, but of course, their best look to date must got to an outfit that was a sheer statement.

Demi Lovato's 2017 Grammys dress exuded confidence

In 2017, Demi Lovato was nominated for their first Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for "Confident," and they went with the confident theme when picking out their red carpet outfit. The singer arrived to the awards show in a sheer, open-knit gown from designer Julien Macdonald's Spring 2017 RTW collection (via Billboard). The stunning look was a definite head-turner, and their stylist at the time, Avo Yermagyan, said they chose this gown that looked like it almost disappeared on Lovato because they wanted "wanted to showcase [Lovato's] beautiful figure and tattoos." The best part about the entire look was the confidence Lovato exuded while wearing it on the red carpet.

It's the same confidence they continue to have in some recent looks that deserve an honorable mention as well. One look that deserves a nod is what they wore in a recent photoshoot with famed photographer Tyler Shields. According to People, Lovato and actress Allie Marie Evans posed for some "steamy" black and white photos that featured the singer wearing a lace bralette and black blazer with their short hair slicked back. The images posted to Instagram really showcased that "undeniably cool" style that Lovato has, especially now working with stylist Siena Montesano (via Vogue). Whether they're wearing a sheer floor-length gown to Grammys or a gender fluid blazer for an artistic photoshoot, Lovato has time and time again proven that they can wear it all, which really makes them a style icon to watch.
