This Is Why Mariah And Marcel From Pit Bulls And Parolees Got Divorced

You don't have to be a veterinarian to enjoy the reality shows on Animal Planet, from the long-running series "Shark Week" to the popular "Pitbulls and Parolees;" the network provides a variety of entertainment for those in all walks of life.

The "Pitbulls and Parolees" reality series follows the daily operations at the largest pit bull rescue facility in the country, Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans, which was founded by animal rescue hero Tia Maria Torres. The show involves the (sometimes startling and sad) rescues of abused and neglected pit bulls. The feel-good piece is typically watching these sweet pups get adopted and finding their forever home (via Little Things).

In addition to rescuing dogs, Tia uses her facility to support the livelihood of parolees by way of employment and volunteer positions, as well as using the show as a platform to break the harsh stigmas surrounding pit bulls and parolees. As one of the top-rated shows on Animal Planet, it's no surprise that viewers become invested in the lives of the staff and animals, and Tias daughter Mariah is no exception (per The Cinemaholic).

Sad news for the Mariah and Marcel fans

The "Pitbulls and Parolees" audience was wooed as they watched Mariah fall head over heels for rescue volunteer, Marcel Cthulhu. According to The Cinemaholic, the couple shared a passion for rescuing dogs, which they often did together, and as their love story unfolded, they captured the hearts of viewers. They married in Las Vegas in 2016 and unfortunately for their fans, MarriedCeleb reports that the couple officially divorced in 2018, although they claim to have been separated just a few short months after their nuptials.

TheCinemaholic reveals that Mariah, after being hassled on her social media accounts, stated the separation was caused by the couple's realization that they wanted different things in life. The reality star currently appears to be single, and her Instagram account reveals she is still working with her family at the rescue center as well as starring in "Pitbulls and Parolees."

Pitbull Puppies reports that Marcel is still a volunteer at the Villalobos Rescue Center, but stated it's hard to gather any information on him, as he leads a very private life and holds no social media accounts.
