The Irish Athleisure Brand Niall Horan Is Backing
Niall Horan is perhaps best known for his musical abilities as a member of the British boy band sensation One Direction. Horan has also seen success in his solo music career following the band's announced hiatus in 2015 and has been steadily building his own fanbase with each new release (via E!). His second album, "Heartbreak Weather," debuted in March 2020 and further amplified his already booming popularity (via MTV). It's clear from Horan's work ethic that he has no intention of slowing down in the wake of One Direction's break.
Casual fans of the singer may not know that in addition to his musical talents, Horan is a passionate golf fan and plays the sport in his spare time, often supporting golfing initiatives like Drive Chip Putt in America (per Modest Golf). It came as no surprise then when Horan announced he was backing an Irish athleisure brand in April 2021, as it combines his love of athletics and fashion with his passion for helping others. The brand, Gym+Coffee, is hoping to expand internationally with Horan's help (per Belfast Telegraph).
Niall Horan is helping Gym+Coffee build their athleisure brand
In April, singer Niall Horan announced he was taking a minority stake in the Irish athleisure brand Gym+Coffee. Speaking with Fashion United about the venture, Horan stated, "I've been a fan of Gym+Coffee for some time both as a brand and a business. I love the idea of the community they created around the brand and their goals to Make Life Richer." He added, "I realized there were some good synergies between us, and the relationship took off from there, ending with me investing into the company and becoming part of the team."
Chief executive officer of Gym+Coffee Niall Horgan (yes, these two almost share the same name!) was thrilled when the One Direction singer expressed interest in backing the brand. "He is what we aspire to become as a business," Horgan said. "We hope that with his guidance and direction Gym+Coffee can emulate some of the success he's had and proudly represent Ireland internationally" (via WWD).
The company announced in July that they're opening their first Northern Ireland store in Belfast, which will add to the nine stores they've already established across Ireland and England (via Belfast Telegraph). Clearly, this partnership is already paying off!
