This Kardashian Is About To Be A First Time SNL Host

"Saturday Night Live" cleaned up at the 2021 Emmy Awards. The iconic show took home four trophies, including a win in the Outstanding Variety Sketch Series category. It was also recognized for its direction, while Maya Rudolph and Dave Chappelle got nods for their work as show guests (via New York Times). Based on a look at the hosts and musical performers announced ahead of the launch of the show's 47th season, "SNL" shouldn't have any problem picking up trophies next year, either.

The star-studded list only reveals the first month of guests, but there's a lot to look forward to. Owen Wilson will take over hosting duties alongside musical guest Kacey Musgraves for the October 2 season premiere. Vulture noted that this makes for Wilson's first time hosting "SNL," which is hard to believe considering his lengthy career as a king of comedic acting. Musgraves, meanwhile, is fresh off the release of her bittersweet divorce album "Star-Crossed" and a fiery set at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (via YouTube).

Jason Sudeikis – who also nabbed a win at the Emmys — has hosting duties on October 23, while Brandi Carlile will provide musical entertainment. October 16 sees Rami Malek and Young Thug at-bat. But what about October 9? That will likely wind up being one of the most anticipated and controversial shows this season because a Kardashian is hosting. Read on to find out which sister will be making her "SNL" debut.

Kim Kardashian will make "Saturday Night Live" her jam

Yes, you read that right. Kim Kardashian is set to host the October 9 episode of "Saturday Night Live." The reality television star and overall mogul will share the stage with musical guest Halsey, who dropped their rock-infused album "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" in late August. The SKIMS creator seems to be pumped for the responsibility.

"OMFG no turning back now," she wrote alongside a photo announcing the gig on Twitter. "I'm hosting SNL!!!!!" Although this is her first time hosting, it's worth noting that Kardashian and the rest of her family have been parodied on the show over the years. Nicki Minaj channeled Kardashian alongside Colin Jost in a "Weekend Update" skit, which poked fun at her unforgettable "Paper" photoshoot in 2014 (via YouTube). Considering the rapper's recent Twitter sprees, Kardashian may have an opportunity to give us her best Nicki at some point on the show. She could just as easily interrupt Halsey's set for a performance of her long-forgotten single, "Jam" (via YouTube). We'll have to wait and see.

Either way, it's nice to see that Kardashian harbors no bad blood with the show. Hopefully, she'll provide some comedic gold on October 9.
