The Sweet Meaning Behind Vanessa Morgan's Newest Tattoo

In April 2021, Vanessa Morgan debuted a heartfelt tattoo that she got during an at-home ink session with tattoo artist KIJU. The "Riverdale" actor was joined by co-star Lili Reinhart, who got her own meaningful tat. Morgan and Reinhart have both garnered millions of fans across their social media platforms thanks to their roles on the CW hit show. While Morgan appears to be quite close with her co-star-turned-bestie Madelaine Petsch, she's also seemingly grown close to Reinhart — at least, close enough to get tatted together.

After she got inked, Reinhart took to Instagram to show off her tattoo, writing on her Instagram Story (via Hello Giggles), "Damnnnnnn I'm in love." The tattoo consists of an intricately drawn cluster of stars accompanied by a beautifully detailed eye with a rose emerging from it. While, as of this writing, the message behind it is unclear, fans were in love regardless.

Meanwhile, Morgan opted for a tattoo with clear significance.

Vanessa Morgan's wrist ink is close to her heart

2020 seemed to be a bittersweet year for Vanessa Morgan. It began with her proudly announcing she had tied the knot with baseball player Michael Kopech in January 2020. However, mere months later, things took a turn. While the newlyweds seemed quite smitten, when Morgan announced that she was pregnant via Instagram in July 2020, eagle-eyed fans in her comments section noticed that Morgan didn't mention Kopech. Shortly after the announcement, it was revealed that the MLB player had filed for divorce in June 2020, per the Chicago Tribune. So, what does all that have to do with her April 2021 ink?

Well, in January 2021, news broke that Morgan had given birth to a baby boy named River, per US Weekly. When it came to choosing a meaningful tattoo, the actor chose to dedicate it to her son, getting "River" written in cursive on her wrist. She took to Instagram to share a shot of the ink, writing (via Popsugar), "My heart on my sleeve." As of this writing, Morgan has about seven tattoos, per Hello Giggles. However, this one likely holds a very special place in her heart.

Fans are surely happy to watch the "Riverdale" star adapt so beautifully to her new role: motherhood.
