Nick Cannon Reveals The Scandalous Lie That Led To His Split From Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian's love life has always been of interest to her fans. The reality TV star has been in many high profile relationships with other stars, and has even been married three times. Kardashian, who shares four children with estranged husband Kanye West, previously dated athletes such as former NFL star Reggie Bush and ex-NBA player Kris Humphries (whom she was married to for just 72 days before calling it quits, per Us Weekly). However, before tying the knot with Humphries and West, the KKW Beauty founder also dated famed host Nick Cannon.
Kardashian and Cannon began dating in September 2006, not long after Kardashian ended her three-year relationship with rapper Ray J (via Cheat Sheet). Kardashian's relationship with Cannon lasted for a few short months, and wasn't on fans' radars because it was before the now-business mogul shot to fame with her family.
Over the years, Cannon has been candid about his relationship with Kardashian. He's even spoken out about her infamous sex tape, which the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star made with ex-boyfriend Ray J before she began dating Cannon. The "Drumline" star has even admitted that the tape was the reason that he and Kardashian ultimately split.
Nick Cannon says Kim Kardashian broke his heart
Us Weekly reports that Nick Cannon recently sat down for an interview with the "Drink Champs" podcast. During the appearance, the "Masked Singer" host opened up about his painful past breakup with Kim Kardashian. Cannon admitted that he dated Kardashian before she was a star. "People didn't know, they were like, 'Who's that chick with Nick? She's bad,'" he said, admitting that although the tape was made before he dated Kardashian, it appeared to the public that it happened after the couple's relationship.
Despite it all, Cannon confessed that he had strong feelings for the reality star. "I was really into her, I was vibing," he stated, adding that Kardashian was an "amazing person." According to Yahoo, Cannon says that Kardashian hurt him when she denied the existence of the tape. "She broke my heart. Then, it started being these rumors going around that it was this tape," he said. "When I asked her about it, she denied it. I knew that they messed with each other. I never watched the tape." Cannon went on to reveal that Kardashian's lie about the tape was the reason they two broke up. "I just knew at that time, all my team was like, 'Abort mission,'" he said.
Sadly, there's no telling how the relationship between Cannon and Kardashian may have played out if not for the tape.
