How Barron Trump Is Similar To His Father Donald
Barron Trump is perhaps the most mysterious of all of Donald Trump's children, as he was kept out of the spotlight through much of the Trump presidency at the insistence of his mother, Melania Trump. He was only 9 years old when his father announced his candidacy for the U.S. presidency in 2015, with much of the media finding Donald Trump to be a joke candidate, but covering him anyway for the outrageous things he said and did.
When Trump was shockingly elected president in 2016 and moved into the White House in 2017, Barron stayed behind in New York City with his mother because she claimed she wanted him to finish out the school year (via The Washington Post). When he did arrive in Washington, D.C,. he didn't even go to school where other presidential children had gone for decades. Instead of going to the Sidwell School in the city, he attended St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland (via Town and Country).
With Barron being so shut off from the public, it's hard to tell if he is similar to his father, but there are some hints that he might have some of his father's traits.
Barron Trump inherited his father's height
At 6' 3" Donald Trump is certainly considered a tall man who is above average height, which gives him a looming presence. It looks like Barron Trump inherited his father's height. In fact, at just 15 years old, as of this writing, Barron stands at a whopping 6' 5" and might still be growing as adolescent boys typically don't reach their full height until later. With his mother, Melania Trump, being an above average height for a woman standing at 5' 11", it's no wonder Barron is a really tall teen who towers over both of his parents (via The New York Post)
According to the South China Morning Post, Melania once dubbed her son "Little Donald," but that was apparently a misnomer considering how tall he is. Whether he follows in his father's steps in business and politics remains to be seen.
Do Barron and Donald Trump have the same interests?
While not much has been revealed about Barron's personality as he never gave any interviews while he was the first son, Melania Trump has said that her teenage boy is definitely into sports. While she didn't mention what his favorite sport is, Donald Trump revealed to CBS News in 2019 that he likes soccer, but he would steer him away from football. "I just don't like the reports that I see coming out having to do with football –- I mean, it's a dangerous sport and I think it's -– I –- it's –- really tough, I thought the equipment would get better, and it has. The helmets have gotten far better but it hasn't solved the problem."
Whether Barron enjoys golf as much as his father remains to be seen, but so far it doesn't look like the paparazzi has ever caught Barron out there on one of Trump's many private golf courses.
