Big Ed Teases 90 Day Fiancé: Single Life Season 2 - Exclusive

If anyone embodies the "90 Day Fiancé" franchise, it's Big Ed. Ed "Big Ed" Brown hit the ground running when he joined the franchise during Season 4 of spin-off "90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days," and he's been a fan favorite ever since. For mega fans, Big Ed was the man who put mayonnaise in his hair as a conditioning treatment, who dated a woman whose father was a year younger than him, and of course, who coined viral phrase after viral phrase. For those of you who are TikTok users, the following phrase embodied by a viral sound might sound familiar.

"I like the view."

"You do? You're my best view."

"Meh."

That, lovely readers of The List, is none other than a viral Big Ed moment that found its way onto the platform and absolutely blew up — with all of that said, it's no wonder that fans flock to Big Ed to see what he's up to next.

"90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days" may have seen Big Ed shower with his girlfriend's dad, or wrap his Nikes in plastic so they wouldn't get dirty, but we're here to tell you that there's a lot more to Ed than is captured on camera. He is funny, charismatic, and in an exclusive sit down with The List, he shared deeply personal stories about therapy and giving back to his community, just as he revealed hilarious moments that will bring viewers back to the screen time and time again. Slated to star in the upcoming season of "90 Day: The Single Life," Big Ed told us all about the new episodes, how COVID-19 impacted production, and what he's taken away from the franchise as a whole.

Single Life Season 2 viewers are in for a treat, according to Big Ed

If you're anything like us, then you really can't get enough of the "90 Day" franchise. Call it escapism television, if you will, but "90 Day Fiancé" and its spin-offs provide entertainment value at a relatable level — who doesn't know what it's like to risk it all for love? One said spin-off is "90 Day: The Single Life," which as of publication has had one season and is set to start airing Season 2 on November 12, 2021. While he was featured on Season 1, Big Ed told us during an exclusive sit down that Season 2 is a whole different kind of adventure.

"I think season one of 'Singles' was kind of boring, because I didn't expect to fall in love, and I was only with Liz, but Season 2 is crazy," Big Ed shared. "It is exciting. There's tears, there's laughter, there's danger. It's going to be much more wild than Season 1, so you got to tune in." What can fans expect to see from the social media dominating Big Ed? He told us that viewers are in for "a real treat," and will even see him dance during Season 2. Be sure to set your DVR or tune in to watch, because we certainly will.

When asked what sets Season 2 apart from the debut season of "90 Day: The Single Life," and subsequently what sets "90 Day: The Single Life" apart from other reality television, Big Ed didn't hold back. "Nothing against the Kardashians, but people are done with the people that have money and it's all about this ritzy life," he said. "People want reality and they want to see you succeed, and they want to see you buck your butt. They want to see you make mistakes and they want to see you learn from your mistakes."

Did COVID-19 impact Single Life Season 2?

To say that COVID-19 impacted pretty much every aspect of life is an understatement — from celebrating weddings and graduations to simply going to the grocery store, a myriad of our daily practices were significantly altered. For Big Ed, the coronavirus pandemic had a unique effect on him, as it impacted the production of "90 Day: The Single Life" Season 2. Of course, many of us know that film and television sets were shut down for months at the start of the pandemic, and as they have reopened, a number of health and safety protocols have been put in place in order to maintain a filming and production schedule.

"The production company that TLC works with, they take the COVID very seriously," Big Ed told us of filming during the pandemic. "The day before I left for Mexico on Season 2, I think I was COVID tested three different times in one day. Everyone's in masks. The protocol was: first thing we do before we start filming is we have a safety meeting and they ask, does anybody have a cough, symptoms? Have you been around anybody?" he continued to reveal more, saying that the only filming experience he's had that was even more significantly impacted was when he filmed "90 Day Fiancé: B90 Strikes Back."

"We had to do all the self-filming," Big Ed revealed about the at-home production. "What's kind of ironic is COVID actually made me viral because people had nothing to do. I do my video shoutouts, and people are like, 'your season got us through COVID,'" he said.

"90 Day: The Single Life" Season 2 premieres Friday, November 12 on discovery+.
