The Truth About Lindsay Lohan's Engagement Ring

The holiday season just got a little brighter for Lindsay Lohan, who recently announced her engagement to boyfriend Bader Shammas (via People).

The actor — best known for her roles in "Mean Girls," "Freaky Friday," and "The Parent Trap" — shared the happy news via Instagram the Sunday following Thanksgiving, showcasing adorable pictures of the pair and writing, "My love. My life. My family. My future."

Lohan was no stranger to controversy in the early 2010s, often making tabloid headlines for her substance abuse issues, including arrests and stints in rehab (via CNN). However, in the last few years, Lohan has experienced both a career and personal renaissance. Lohan is starring, alongside former "Glee" star Chord Overstreet, in the Netflix Christmas movie "Sweet Peek," which will be released in 2022, and next year she'll also become the latest celebrity to host their very own podcast (via People, Variety).

"I'm excited to partner with Studio71 in the development and production of my podcast," Lohan said of the news. "I'm looking forward to connecting with more of my fans and having intimate conversations with friends and thought leaders across all industries."

For Lohan's longtime fans, this return to entertainment hasn't come a moment too soon.

Lohan's dazzling engagement ring

While not much is known about Lohan's new fiancé, Bader Shammas, rumors of their relationship began in February of 2020 when Lohan posted (and then deleted) a group picture at a music festival in Dubai, where Lohan has been living, with the caption: "Lovely night with [my] sister [Aliana] and my boyfriend Bader ... such a magical night" (via People).

Although Shammas' Instagram account is private, according to his LinkedIn profile, he is an assistant vice president at Credit Suisse, a financial services company (via People).

When announcing her engagement to Shammas, Lohan stunned fans with an engagement ring from the one and only Harry Winston (via Us Weekly). "I'd estimate the value to be near $150,000 depending on the quality of the stone," says Mike Fried, CEO of the Diamond Pro. The stone, which is princess or cushion cut, shines bright at an estimated four or five carats.

Lohan has previously been linked to Aaron Carter, Wilmer Valderrama, Samantha Ronson, shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, and restaurateur Harry Morton, among others (via Us Weekly). She was briefly engaged to Egor Tarabasov, a Russian businessman, but called off their engagement in July 2016 (via Us Weekly).
