Why Prince Harry Is Reportedly Avoiding Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart's portrayal of the late Princess Diana in the film "Spencer" got rave reviews from critics when the film was released in November 2021. "Kristen Stewart gives the performance of her life as Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales. Oscar should smile on Stewart, who makes 'Spencer' a spellbinder from first scene to last," film critic Peter Travers wrote for Good Morning America. The film follows the Princess of Wales during a 72-hour time period in which she celebrated Christmas at Sandringham with the royal family in 1991 amid problems in her marriage to Prince Charles.
However, while the critics may have loved Stewart's performance in the film, royal expert Robert Jobson warned that the royal family wouldn't be happy about the film before its release. "They won't like it, but they would have expected it. It is the truth," Jobson previously told Us Weekly of "Spencer."
It seems that Jobson may have been correct in his assumption, as Diana's youngest son, Prince Harry, is said to be a bit upset about the film, and the way that Stewart portrayed his beloved late mother on the big screen (via Geo News). Harry is so reportedly so upset that he's even going to great lengths to steer clear of the actress.
Prince Harry allegedly wants nothing to do with Kristen Stewart after her Spencer performance
According to OK! Magazine, Prince Harry isn't happy with the way Kristen Stewart portrayed his late mother Princess Diana in the new movie "Spencer." The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle were said to be disturbed by the actress' dark performance in the film and are planning to avoid Stewart as much as they possibly can during the upcoming awards season events. "It's struck a sour note with Harry. He's pretty appalled by the film," a source tells the outlet.
The insider went on to reveal that Harry and Meghan "have been invited to all the big events and planned on attending the Oscars too, but they'd almost certainly come face-to-face with Stewart since she's a lock for a best actress nomination," the source said. While Stewart may be celebrating an Oscar nom for "Spencer," Harry might be rooting against the actress in that event. However, Meghan believes that she and Harry can simply "ignore Kristen or be briefly polite, but Harry's not one to be fake, and his nerves are still raw," the source admitted. "He's actually thinking about skipping the Oscars, but Meghan really wants back into the Hollywood scene."
