Our Favorite Tweezers: The 2022 List Beauty Awards

Many men and women choose to leave their grooming to the pros, letting the best estheticians handle their primping and polishing while only relying on self-care maintenance between appointments. Then March 2020 hit, and with salons closed down, we had to do it ourselves, learning how to expertly shape our eyebrows and tweeze where we never had before.

Suffice to say, the importance of owning a good, reliable set of tweezers was no longer an afterthought. In fact, given that there are specific shapes and designs for each type of hair growth and need, multiple pairs are the new normal. And the good news is, you can get an extremely effective set of tweezers without breaking the bank.

After searching high and low, we plucked (get it?) some of our favorite tweezers on the market and tested them so you don't have to. So without further ado, here are The List Beauty Awards: tweezer edition.

Sally Hansen Eazy Tweezy Comfort Grip Slant Tip Tweezer: Winner

When hunting for a good set of tweezers, the two most important factors are efficient hair removal and minimal pain. After testing five different pairs of tweezers, we came to the conclusion that a slant tip does the job brilliantly — and the Sally Hansen Eazy Tweezy Comfort Grip tweezers have just that.

Because this product's slant tip is slightly rounded — as opposed to the Revlon Expert Slant Tip, which we also reviewed — it allows for more targeted and specific plucking, something that particularly comes in handy when tweezing your eyebrows. Additionally, the slightly rounded tip is helpful for those inevitable times that you accidentally don't grab any hair; should you stab yourself in the chin or forehead with your tweezers, a slightly rounded tip won't hurt as much as a more slanted one.

Another winning feature of the Sally Hansen tweezers is their ergonomic grip, which makes them easy to handle even for an extended period of time. These tweezers, which cost just over $14 on Amazon, are all-around winners.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Precision Tweezers: Runner-up

If you're willing and able to shell out a little more money for a set of tweezers, our favorite high-end pair are the Anastasia Beverly Hills Precision Tweezers, which retail for $28 at Nordstrom. Like the Sally Hansen Eazy Tweezy Comfort Grip tweezers, this pair also has a slanted tip, making it a breeze to target even the shortest hairs.

Plus, the Anastasia tweezers are made out of sleek stainless steel, which makes them easier to hold and grip — and because they're not flimsy, you'll get some real weight and momentum behind you when you pull out those undesired hairs.

As a bonus, these tweezers come with a handy protective plastic cap, so you don't have to worry about any accidental pokes or prods when handling them. This also means the slant tip is less likely to rust or otherwise lose its efficiency.

Plus, if you love a pop of color, they even come in hot pink!

Tweezerman Pink Perfection Point Tweezer: Runner-up

The more The List learned about the art of tweezing eyebrows (not to mention stray hairs on various other body parts), the clearer it became that having a few different types of tweezers is a necessity in any beauty expert's arsenal.

That's where the point tip tweezer comes into play. While we wouldn't recommend using the pointed tweezers for the majority of your plucking routine, a pointed tip comes in handy when trying to grab on to finer or shorter hairs. Because the pull on a pointed tweezer won't be as strong as on the slanted tip variety, you're less likely to accidentally capture multiple hairs, making the pointed tweezer ideal for shaping. These tweezers also come in handy when trying to extract pesky ingrown hairs.

Our favorite in this category is the Tweezerman Pink Perfection Point Tweezer. Tweezerman is basically a household name when it comes to tweezers, and this $24 pair from Sephora gets the stamp of approval when it comes to perfect arches.

Revlon Mini Tweezer Set To Go: Runner-up

How many times have you been out at a bar or restaurant only to look in the bathroom mirror and find that you missed a spot when you last tweezed? It's happened to us more times than we'd like to admit. Of course, there are only two solutions to this problem: Embrace the strays, or always have a set of tweezers on you.

At The List, we love brows in all shapes and sizes, but if a full frame isn't your thing, travel sized tweezers are a must. We've taken a liking to the Revlon Mini Tweezer Set To Go, which comes with both a slant and point tip pair. Given their smaller size — and the fact they come in a handy little pouch — these are easy to throw into your bag before you leave the house.

The point tip tweezers are the real MVP here; although the prongs don't meet up as naturally as our winning pair, they'll still help you out in a pinch. Plus their a steal at $6.85 on Amazon.

Revlon Expert Slant Tip Tweezers: Runner-up

And last, but certainly not least, we come to the Revlon Expert Slant Tip Tweezer, A.K.A. our favorite drugstore tweezers.

Affordable, reliable, and easy to find at the neighborhood pharmacy. Sure, you could spring for fancier tweezers, but you know you can count on the Revlon Expert Slant Tip Tweezer to get the job done — no matter what your budget is. You can even snag a pair on Amazon for $8.25.

While these tweezers lack the sort of arched tip that both the Anastasia Beverly Hills Precision Tweezers and the Sally Hansen Eazy Tweezy Comfort Grip Slant Tip have, they'll still be able to extract most of your unwanted hairs. Our recommendation: Handle these with care when attempting to tweeze a hair amongst many others, as you might pull out more than one.

Whether you're looking for a single pair of tweezers to reign above all others or a few different types to achieve all your hair(less) goals, The List has you covered.
