Is This Really How Kate And William Felt About The Sussexes' Oprah Interview?

In March 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made headlines after they sat down for a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up about their mental health issues, their decision to exit their roles as senior members of the royal family, and their life in California.

During the interview, the Sussexes also claimed that a member of the firm had made racially insensitive comments about their son's skin color, and they spoke about Harry's brother, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton (via the Independent).

After Meghan told Oprah that Kate had made her cry while she was planning her wedding, one royal expert revealed William and Kate's reaction.

"William is very protective of Kate and can get very angry," Penny Junor told People. "For Meghan to name Kate in a negative light is worse than being attacked himself."

However, a new report reveals that the Duke and Duchess and Cambridge had very different reactions after seeing Meghan and Harry's Oprah interview.

William and Kate reportedly had different reactions to Harry and Meghan's interview

According to The Times, Kate Middleton has really grown into her role as a member of the royal family and is preparing to take on a new responsibility when Prince William ascends to the throne in the future.

When Kate becomes queen, she'll be even more watched and talked-about than she already is. But she reportedly has the grace and poise to handle it, which she displayed after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spoke about her during their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

The outlet reports that William was furious after Harry and Meghan spoke about Kate in a negative way during the interview. The future king was said to be "reeling" with "his head all over the place."

However, Kate was said to have a very different, much calmer reaction to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's comments. Instead of getting angry, she focused on supporting her husband during the difficult time.

"In the days after the interview her priority was William, not how she felt about what Harry and Meghan had done," a source close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed. "She has focused on personal support for William in what has been a really sad time in his life. She never predicted the degree of falling out between them."

It seems that Kate chose to keep her cool in order to balance out William's strong reaction.
