Bachelor Contestant Shanae's Comments On Mental Health Have Viewers Seeing Red

Shanae Ankney is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about contestants on Clayton Echard's season of "The Bachelor" (via Us Weekly). It appears that Ankney may be the Season 26 villain as she's already making a splash and causing some drama in the house. The Ohio native is from the small town of Sycamore, just outside of Cleveland. During her "Bachelor" introduction she revealed that the "everyone knows everyone" in the tiny tony and that "the dating pool is very small."

Shanae previously worked as an administrative assistant for a neurosurgeon at The Ohio State University. She also has her cosmetologist license. Currently, she's employed as the Director of Recruiting for a health insurance broker company in her home state of Ohio.

In her ABC bio, it's revealed what Shanae hoped to find by dating Echard during Season 26. "She is looking for a man with confidence that won't waste time playing games," the bio reads. "She also values her independence, so while Shanae wants to build a life with someone, she also wants someone who encourages her to achieve the goals she has set for herself. Above all, Shanae wants to be able to be herself with a man who will honor and cherish her for the gem that she is."

However, while Shanae is hoping to capture Clayton's attention, she's also been making waves with the other contestants.

Fans aren't happy with Shanae

According to Yahoo, Shanae Ankney caused some serious drama during the Monday, January. 10 episode of "The Bachelor." It started when Shanae was chosen to go on a group date with Clayton Echard and some other contestants. During the outing, Ankney seemingly got jealous of fellow contestant Elizabeth Corrigan monopolizing Echard's time. Ankney then decided to speak to Echard, telling him that Elizabeth was "two-faced" after she ignored her during a pool day. Later, when the women sat down for a conversation, Elizabeth told Shanae about some mental health issues that she experiences.

"So I want to expose something about myself," Elizabeth told Shanae. "It's really hard for me to have multiple auditory inputs because I can't process the information. I have ADHD. I've had it really bad since I was a kid," she added. Ankney went on to tell the other contestants that Elizabeth has ADHD without her permission and even went as far as to claim that she was lying about her diagnosis. Later in the episode, Shanae mocked Elizabeth's ADHD again, angering many viewers, who took to social media to speak out.

"The audacity of Shanae to shame Elizabeth for having ADHD. This shouldn't be allowed at all. Mental health is no joke!" a viewer tweeted. "Very disappointed the Bachelor didn't put up a full screen about mental health after that episode. Especially after Shenae made fun of it and laughed about it," tweeted another.

It seems that Ankney is quickly becoming an issue in the "Bachelor" house.
