Bold And The Beautiful Storylines Even Die-Hard Fans Couldn't Get Behind

When a soap has been on the air for more than three decades, it will present some storylines that will be considered classics forever that fans will watch over and over in 2022 via "The Bold and the Beautiful" clips on YouTube or social media. Who can ever forget the Forrester fashion shows, Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) living among the homeless (via Soaps.com), or Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Brooke Logan's (Katherine Kelly Lang) hot air balloon wedding (via CBS.com)?

Of course, there have also been storylines that bombed. They might have not made die-hard fans tune out, but they certainly made those fans vocal on the Internet as they discussed plotline bombs amongst themselves on website forums, Twitter, or Facebook. Some of these stories were so disturbing they made fans cringe. From mannequins come to life to a senseless suicide that truly came out of nowhere, "B&B" has had its share of stories that needed to end before they began.

Quinn kidnaps an amnesiac Liam

Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer) spent her entire adult life trying to make her son, Wyatt Spencer (Darrin Brooks), happy. Even when he was an adult, that was her mission and she was going to do this in any way possible. Wyatt wanted Hope Logan (then played by Kimberly Matula)? Well, she made sure his half-brother, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), never made it to their meeting destination in Italy. Wyatt then wanted Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood)? Well, she had to get Liam out of the way again, so she knocked him out, kidnapped him, and took him to a remote cabin where he woke up with amnesia.

Perfect! All Quinn had to do was tell Liam that his name was Adam, her name was Eve, and they were married, per Soap Dirt. And Liam fell for it, hook, line, and sinker. What Quinn didn't count on was falling for Liam during the weeks she kept him locked away. What disturbed fans the most was that Liam slept with Quinn having no this woman was not his wife, much less having no idea who he was (via Soaps In Depth). When Liam's memory finally returned and he reunited with Steffy, the ending to this Adam and Eve story couldn't come soon enough for the audience.

Thomas imagines a mannequin is Hope

Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) had spent two years obsessed with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) before he finally got the true help he needed on "The Bold and the Beautiful." It was disturbing enough when Thomas emotionally abused his young son, Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri), in order to get Hope to care for the both of them enough to marry him, but he thought he had conquered his obsessive thoughts once she was with Liam once again and raising her daughter.

However, when Thomas spotted a mannequin at Forrester Creations that looked just like Hope because it was for her Hope for the Future fashion line, he felt compelled to bring it home and dress her in some of the clothing from the line.

Soon, he started hearing the mannequin talk to him in Hope's voice, urging him to get rid of Liam so they could be together. Thomas then dated the mannequin right in his apartment, but it was all over when the real Hope arrived and found him kissing the mannequin, according to Soaps In Depth. Thomas then passed out, was rushed to the hospital, and it was revealed he had a brain injury that led to his obsessive delusions. The strangeness of this story left a bad taste in viewers' mouths.

Vinny throws himself in front of Liam's car

After having brain surgery, Thomas Forrester was finally over his obsession with Hope, but his best friend, Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero), was apparently still convinced that Hope and Thomas had to have a fairy tale ending. Thomas was horrified when he learned that lab tech Vinny had switched the paternity test results for Steffy's unborn baby to make it seem that Liam was the father so that Hope would leave Liam. But he was more horrified when Vinny turned up in the morgue a few days later.

Meanwhile, Liam and Bill Spencer knew they had accidentally ran Liam down and left him on the side of the road in a horrible hit and run accident. What nobody knew until Thomas checked his voicemail weeks later was that Vinny had called Thomas as Liam's car was coming around the bend and he told Thomas he was going to jump in front of Liam's car so that Thomas could be happy and live a life with Hope (via Soaps In Depth). The fact that a supporting character who took his own life in such a horrific way so his best friend could get the girl never made sense and turned off even the most loyal of "The Bold and the Beautiful" fans.
