The Timing Of Ivanka Trump's Return To Social Media Is Raising Eyebrows

After nearly nine months, Ivanka Trump has returned to social media, and some are wondering about the timing. On April 14, 2021, Trump shared that she had been vaccinated, writing "Today, I got the shot!!! I hope that you do too! Thank you Nurse Torres!!!" on Instagram. On May 5, she wrote that she had received her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. "Getting fully vaccinated is the best way to end this pandemic and protect ourselves and one another" (via Instagram).

Two days ago, the former president's daughter turned to Instagram once again, thanking those who helped feed families during the holiday season. And two days ago, New York Attorney General Letitia James tweeted, "We are taking legal action to force Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., and Ivanka Trump to comply with our investigation into the Trump Organization's financial dealings. No one in this country can pick and choose if and how the law applies to them" (via Twitter).

Ivanka Trump's social media post coincides with news that she has been subpoenaed

According to Business Insider, New York Attorney General Letitia James has taken legal action and issued subpoenas, urging Donald Trump and his oldest children to give sworn testimonies.

"For more than two years, the Trump Organization has used delay tactics and litigation in an attempt to thwart a legitimate investigation into its financial dealings," she said, adding that the organization falsified finances, in order to get loans, insurance, and tax deductions.

Therefore, when Ivanka Trump came back to social media and posted about feeding the hungry, the comments were not all positive. "Hopefully someone will bring you fresh produce when you're sitting in jail," said one Instagram user. "It's nice you're already practicing 'community service' for when you get sentenced for sedition," said another. "Trying to make the case for redemption before you head off..." someone else wrote.
