These Stars Are Supporting Regina King After The Loss Of Her Son

Regina King's 26-year-old son, Ian Alexander Jr., died by suicide this weekend, as confirmed by CNN. The actress released a statement following his death, which read, "Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian. He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you" (via NME).

While we're sure many close friends are consoling King in person, a lot of celebrity pals took to Twitter to voice their condolences and support for the "Jerry Maguire" star. Countless fans also tweeted loving messages to King as the devastating news began circulating online.

Missy Elliot was among the stars who tweeted support for King, writing, "​​PRAYERS for Regina King family & Ian Alexander Sr. family. Dear LORD give them STRENGTH during this time." Fellow actress Rosanna Arquette tweeted, "Sending love light and prayers to Regina king and her family." And Marlee Matlin said, "I am absolutely heartbroken for @ReginaKing. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts."
