The Stars Of Tall Girl 2 Open Up About On-Screen Kisses - Exclusive

Not many people get paid to kiss their co-workers, but for actors, it's all part of the job. That's not to say it's easy, though. "It is very nerve-wracking," Anjelika Washington, who plays Fareeda in "Tall Girl 2," admitted to The List during an exclusive interview.

In the second installment of the popular Netflix franchise, her character now has a surprising love interest who she locks lips with on screen. Though she's experienced an onscreen kiss in another movie of hers, her scene in "Tall Girl 2" was completely different. "I actually had never experienced that," she admitted.

However, Washington did have a close co-star that she was able to lean on when it came to kissing. Ava Michelle, who plays Jodi in the films, had her very first onscreen kiss in the original movie. Though she may be used to kissing actor Griffin Gluck by now, these intimate scenes are still some of the most difficult ones she has had to do for the movie, too. "It's just an interesting experience," Michelle admitted, and she and Washington told us all about it.

Ava Michelle and Anjelika Washington try not to overthink kissing scenes

The cast of "Tall Girl 2" has to make their choreographed kisses look as natural as possible on screen, which can be a pretty difficult (not to mention awkward) endeavor. As the entire crew is watching them kiss their co-star, an outside perspective can be daunting. Whenever the director yells cut and asks, "'Can you move your hand like that?' Or, like, 'How long you hold her? More.' I'm like, 'Ahh!'" Anjelika Washington admitted to The List. "It just takes away from trying to make it real, you know?"

As actors, their job is to get their minds in the moment, but when the special scene ends, things definitely get interesting. "I think it's the funniest thing when the scene cuts, and then you're like, 'Cool, cool, cool. Okay. So, like, we're just friends. We're just chilling,'" Ava Michelle said.

However, just when these two think their canoodling has come to an end, they're instructed to lock lips once again in an entirely new way. "How many variations of a kiss can we get?" Michelle said.

While she and Griffin Gluck have made the chemistry look extremely real during their kissing scenes, opening themselves up on screen has been an interesting feat for sure. "It's very different," she said. "I don't know how to explain it."

"Tall Girl 2" is available to stream now exclusively on Netflix.
