Bravo Stars React To Katie Maloney-Schwartz And Tom Schwartz's Split
For viewers of reality television, the lines can get blurred between what's real and what's dramatized. This is why it feels especially harsh when a beloved reality TV couple announces that they're breaking up. Suddenly, all those explosive fights we laughed at, or juicy cheating allegations we devoured, feel a little too real. This is further amplified when the breakup doesn't take place on-screen, as it shows how much goes on behind the scenes.
On "Vanderpump Rules," fans have watched tensions build between Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Tom Schwartz. They entered the show as a couple, and they even shared their wedding with the public (per Bustle). Since then, the pair have faced their fair share of explosive drama on the show, but it seemed like nothing could break them. They took a back seat in recent seasons, so the news of their split came as a shock to fans. Rumors initially began swirling that Maloney-Schwartz was hinting at a separation on social media by sharing Instagram posts where she wasn't wearing her wedding ring.
The news was finally confirmed on March 14 when a source close to the couple announced they had separated (via The Sun). Maloney-Schwartz and Schwartz's split got all the more real when they both took to Instagram to confirm the news and share touching tributes (per The Daily Mail). Now that it's all out in the open, fans, as well as close friends of the couple, have flocked to their sides in support. Bravo stars have also reacted to the news of the couple's separation.
Shep Rose and others offer support to Katie and Tom
Katie Maloney-Schwartz announced her breakup from husband Tom Schwartz in an Instagram post. She stated, "After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage." She explained that the couple harbors no ill will toward each other and continues to be friends. Schwartz echoed the sentiment in his own touching Instagram post where he said, "Katie [and] I are separating. I'm not quite ready to use the 'D' word [because] it's too painful. Yes my heart aches but I'll be ok ... As sad as I am, still happy to say there's no anger or bitterness."
While fans were left speechless following the couple's decision to split after 12 years, their close friends and castmates instantly showed their love and support. Maloney-Schwartz's best friend, Stassi Schroeder, commented on Instagram, "I love you." Ariana Madix echoed this simple sentiment (per E!). Schroeder and Madix, along with Kristen Doute, also left the comments, "love you both so much," under Schwartz's post.
The entire Bravo TV family showed their love and support for the couple, with Shep Rose from "Southern Charm" commenting, "So I'm Wishing Strength And newfound happiness to you both even if everything seems bleak" (via The Daily Dish). The cast of "Summer House" all sent love and hugs in the comments section on both posts as well.
