Kate Middleton's Ensemble For St. Patrick's Day Has Royal Fans Green With Envy

Just like millions of others around the world, Kate Middleton is celebrating St. Patrick's Day by donning green clothing. On March 17, Middleton, along with her husband, Prince William, celebrated the Irish holiday by attending the annual St. Patrick's Day parade and celebration in Aldershot, an English town located approximately 40 miles outside of London, according to People. This will be the first time since 2019 that Prince William and Middleton will be enjoying this particular royal family tradition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Middleton and William were front and center throughout the parade and celebration, handing out shamrocks and taking photos with soldiers of every rank. The task of handing out shamrocks mainly falls to Middleton, given that William currently serves as the royal colonel of the Irish Guard, according to the Daily Mail.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles celebrated St. Patrick's Day earlier in the week by sharing pints of Guinness with a crowd at an Irish center in London. At one point, Charles got a bit of froth from the beer on his nose, causing Parker Bowles to laugh and then point out the froth, then causing Charles to laugh out loud, per People.

Kate Middleton's St. Patrick's Day outfit was admired by the masses

As usual, Kate Middleton's impeccable fashion taste was on full display during the annual St. Patrick's Day celebration. Perhaps largely due to the fact that Middleton hasn't been able to dress up for many public outings in the past few years, she appeared to go all out on the Irish holiday. As Page Six reported, Middleton celebrated St. Patrick's Day by wearing a belted green coat dress made by designer Laura Green London. (The decision to wear a piece by Laura Green London on St. Patrick's Day was surely not a coincidence.) The particular coat worn by Middleton, adorned with "military-style epaulettes" and made from a speckled "green military wool," is called the "Emilia" coat. This is the first time that Middleton has worn anything by the designer, though Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Tindell, has worn looks by the designer in the past.

Middleton paired the belted green coat dress with gold "shamrock brooch," Emmy London Rebecca Greenery green suede pumps (so much green!), a green pillbox hat by Lock & Co. Hatters, and a pair of "emerald and diamond drop earrings," according to Page Six. Despite her dedication to wearing green from head-to-toe, Middleton hasn't always worn green on St. Patrick's Day. According to Hello! Magazine, while pregnant with Princess Charlotte in 2015, Middleton broke with tradition by wearing a chestnut brown coat by designer Catherine Walker and chocolate brown shoes.
