What Roles Did Josh Taylor Play On Days Of Our Lives?

"Days of Our Lives" fans know actor Josh Taylor as Salem's own Roman Brady. The character of Roman has had an interesting journey, per Soap Central. The character was originated by actor Wayne Northrop when he came on the scene in 1982. Back then Roman was a police detective who was assigned to protect Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) from the Salem Strangler. The couple quickly hit it off and began dating. The two eventually got married and welcomed twins Sami and Eric into the world. However, soon after Roman was presumed dead and Marlena was left to raise the twins and Roman's oldest child, Carrie.

Later John Black (Drake Hogestyn) came to town and believed that he was Roman. John lived as Roman for about five years until the real Roman returned to Salem to shock everyone. This time when Roman returned, Taylor was in the role — and he's been a staple in Salem ever since. However, longtime "DOOL" fans will likely remember when Taylor played another major role on the NBC soap opera.

Josh Taylor has held two major roles on DOOL

According to TV Insider, actor Josh Taylor has embodied the "Days of Our Lives" character of Roman Brady since 1997. However, before returning to the NBC sudser as the oldest Brady sibling, he previously played a character named Chris Kositchek on the show. Taylor spent a decade portraying Chris, ending his run as the character in 1987. Kositchek first came to Salem in 1977. During his time on the soap opera, the character worked as a foreman at a construction company, a lawyer, a manager at a restaurant, and even owned a health club called The Body Connection, per Soap Central.

During the character's stint in Salem, he was romantic with a number of characters including Mary Anderson, Amanda Howard, Sandy Horton, Tess Janning, Leslie James, and he was even engaged to Roman's younger sister Kayla Brady. After becoming a lawyer in 1987, the character simply disappeared from the show and it's still unknown whether or not he actually left Salem, or if he's living his life away from the main characters of the soap.
