TLC Gave Danielle And Adam Busby's Quintuplets The Ultimate Birthday Gift

TLC is known for its family-focused reality series, and it seems as though there's nothing the network seems to do better than showcasing large families. From the Duggar family on "19 Kids and Counting" and the spin-off, "Counting On," to the latest show profiling a large family, "Doubling Down with the Derricos," the network has a long list of content to choose from.

One of the network's long-running family shows, "OutDaughtered," has been successful since it debuted, and the reason the family at the heart of the program landed a show in the first place is impressive. The stars of the program, the Busby family, were the first American family to have all-girl quintuplets (via PopCulture). Already parents to daughter Blayke, Danielle and Adam Busby struggled with infertility as they tried to add to their family. Thanks to fertility treatments, they became parents on April 8, 2015 to Hazel Grace, Parker Kate, Riley Paige, Ava Lane, and Olivia Marie (via ABC News).

While the show was at the top of the 2016 watchlist for the network, rumors have been swirling about the future of the family's time on TV. However, TLC recently sent a generous gift to the Busby kids for their birthday, making fans question if there is a new season in the works.

The kids received a cool gift from TLC for their upcoming birthday

Adam Busby, the patriarch of the "OutDaughtered" family, recently took to Instagram to post about the gift TLC sent his quintuplet daughters for their upcoming 7th birthday. The family was surprised — and delighted — to find that the network had sent the girls a large mat piano similar to the one Tom Hanks famously played at the FAO Schwarz toy store in "Big."

Adam made a short video featuring the girls thumping, running, and flipping on the giant keys, but the sound is overlaid by another song. Adam wrote in his caption, "Trust me, you don't want to hear the actual audio that I'm hearing right now." While the Busby parents probably wished they could return the piano, the girls looked like they were having a blast.

Fans had plenty of questions and comments about the generous — if noisy — gift as well. "Does TLC hate you or something?" one joked. Adam responded with several laugh-crying emojis. A grandmother asked, "Thought of buying this for my granddaughter ... should I think twice???" Adam reassured her, "It has a volume knob. They have fun with it." Yet another fan had already had experience with the toy: "I bought one of those for my grandkids at my house," she wrote. "But I chose not to take it out [too] often. It is awesome though."

Adam Busby hinted at the future of 'OutDaughtered'

According to Distractify, the most recent season of "OutDaughtered" aired in May 2021, and no announcements about a Season 9 of "OutDaughtered" have been made since. The Busbys have been largely quiet about the whole issue. Their recent social media posts focus on their lives as the parents of six active daughters with soccer matches, fishing trips, tree-planting, watching rodeos, and monster truck shows.

The family has also been affected by Danielle Busby's health crises. For more than a year, the reality TV mom of multiples has suffered from a variety of puzzling symptoms, including body pain and numbness, migraines, and stomach problems. Once, she even thought she was having a heart attack. However, numerous doctors' visits and a battery of tests are beginning to provide some answers. In a March 2021 interview, she told Entertainment Tonight, "I'm looking at a possible autoimmune disease, and sometimes that's just not easily defined. I'm just kind of having to go through a lot of the same processes over again, restarting different routines of blood work and everything."

Many of TLC's popular reality family shows have since gone by the wayside, either because the families have called it quits or because their life circumstances have changed (as with "Counting On," when the Duggar family's struggles with son Josh became public). Adam Busby recently dropped a huge hint as to the future of their program.

The Busbys have a new business venture

The Busbys have largely kept quiet about the possibility of a ninth season of "OutDaughtered," but on March 21, 2022, Adam Busby surprised fans when he answered a question from someone who commented on one of his Instagram posts. "Will 'OutDaughtered' ever be back on? I miss your show so much!" they wrote. Adam replied cryptically, "We need to make a video about this soon, just to give our fans our thought process and why we haven't spoken in this yet. ... It's 100% a decision that we made with our kid's [sic] and our family's best interest at heart. Thank you so much for loving our family!"

As of this writing, the Busbys haven't made that video announcement yet, nor have they answered any more questions about the future of the show. However, the gift from the TLC network might be a positive sign that things could move forward for more "OutDaughtered" content.

On the other hand, it might also be a farewell gift as the Busby family moves on with their post TV lives. Aside from their reality TV work, Adam and Danielle Busby have created an online kids' clothing boutique called Graeson Bee. It is called Graeson Bee because Graeson is a name they chose in case one of their quintuplets was a boy. In March 2022, Danielle announced that they're opening a brick and mortar store in their Texas hometown. So, if this really is the end for "OutDaughtered," the Busbys still have plenty to keep them busy.
