That is when the star originally said "yes" to a marriage proposal from Ben Affleck. But just like bell bottoms, what's old is new again and the famous pair are engaged for a second time.
Lopez teased "a major announcement" on her Instagram and then directed fans to her members-only website, OnTheJLo.com to hear the news. People confirms that the Oscar winner asked the "Jenny From the Block" singer to marry him and sealed the deal with a giant green engagement ring.
Naturally, Us Weekly compared the updated ring to the one Affleck gave Lopez twenty years ago. This sparkler is 8.5 carats and features a natural green diamond, according to the outlet, which also reported the extremely-rare bauble could be worth as much as $10 million. The pink Harry Winston ring the "Argo" director gave the mom of two in the early 2000s was worth around $2.5 million.

Controversially, the actor noted he felt he would still be drinking if he remained in the marriage (via People). This is only one storm the couple has weathered and it seems there's clear sailing ahead now that they are altar bound again. Still, the stars are reportedly not yet planning their wedding (via People).
