Here's What Nia Sioux From Dance Moms Is Doing Now

Did you know that Nia Sioux is, in fact, the longest running member on the hit series "Dance Moms?" According to US Weekly, Sioux was an original member of the Abby Lee Dance Company team that appeared on the show and remained on the series until Season 7. Fans of "Dance Moms" know that Abby Lee Miller, the leader of the Abby Lee Dance Company and the girls' dance teacher, did not favor Sioux (per Insider) and she was aware — she recently posted a Tiktok saying "You think you can hurt my feelings? ... I was the only [Black] girl on ['Dance Moms']" alluding to the poor way she was treated by Miller on the show.

According to Showbiz CheatSheet, Sioux was consistently at the bottom of the pyramid (a ranking system Abby Lee used to show who the best, and worst, dancers were that week). Still, Sioux remained on the show and worked hard to be successful at her craft. So what is the former dancer doing now?

Nia Sioux learned a lot from Dance Moms

Nia Sioux is candid about the negative aspects of her time on "Dance Moms," but she is also grateful for the opportunities it gave her. She recently told Forbes that she learned a lot from the show, and that she has worked to turn a lot of the negatives she experienced into positives. "I look at the great things that I got from it and focus on those instead of dwelling on the negative stuff, because, honestly, that's just going to hold me back," she told the publication. "Plus, all that's going to help me in the future."

And for Sioux, that future is very bright. Since leaving the show, Sioux has put a dual focus on her education and her career. According to the Daily Bruin, the former dancer enrolled at UCLA where she studies American Literature and Culture. She told the publication that attending college was important to her as she never got the true school experience as a child. But the star has not put fame completely behind her.

Nia Sioux is still in the spotlight

Nia Sioux hasn't slowed down one bit since leaving "Dance Moms." In fact, the now 20-something is busier than ever. According to Insider, Sioux has taken up acting, appearing in soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" on CBS and the made-for-TV movie "Imperfect High." She has also worked on a film called "I Am Mortal" and according to Forbes, produced her own Facebook series called "Dance with Nia," which helps dancers with disabilities find confidence.

Sioux is also extremely popular on YouTube, with over a million subscribers, has released her own music and her own book, and hosts her own podcast with Teala Dunn called "Adulting with Teala and Nia," which she started in 2021. And she's not stopping there. Sioux recently told Forbes that she has high expectations for her future, saying "My dreams are huge. I want to be an EGOT one day. That sounds kind of insane, but you never know. I'm throwing it out there. I'm going to manifest it."
