Fans were thrilled when Britney Spears announced she was pregnant after sadly revealing that, over the course of her lengthy conservatorship battle, she'd been prevented from removing her IUD for years, per Variety.
The pop star shared the happy news on Instagram, quipping that she'd worked hard to lose weight in the run-up to a romantic Maui vacation with fiancé Sam Asghari, only to discover that her sudden bloating was a result of a real baby rather than a food one.
As Glamour notes, although Spears has been keeping fans updated on her progress thus far, including opening up about her previous struggles with perinatal depression, she's planning to take a social media break a bit closer to her due date since the pop star was treated so harshly by the media during her first two pregnancies.
Even so, rumors are flying about the name of Spears' new baby, among many other things. And, now, Asghari has revealed whether they want know the baby's sex.

During an interview with Access Hollywood, Sam Asghari shared his excitement about becoming a dad for the first time, enthusing to host Mario Lopez that he's eager to be hands-on during every step of the process.
As for whether Asghari and fiancé Britney Spears are planning to learn the sex of their baby beforehand or wait until the birth, the model confirmed, "I don't want [to know]. That is something I want to wait for." The expectant father added, though, "If it is a daughter, it is going to be the most spoiled princess ever. If it's a son, it is going to be the toughest son ever."
The Iran native also noted that he'd leave it to Spears to decide whether to tell the world about the sex of their child when the time comes.
During an interview with BBC News, prior to their big announcement, Asghari shared how eager he was to become a father, admitting that, if he had his way, they would already be parents. The model and actor explained, "When you're in a relationship with someone that you're truly in love with, you want to recreate."
Moreover, in an Instagram post, shared the day after Spears revealed her pregnancy, he gushed, "Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don't take lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do."
