Days Of Our Lives Is Bringing Back This Legacy Character

Steve Johnson and Kayla Brady are two of the most beloved and central characters on "Days of Our Lives." The super couple has been through it all, and viewers have absolutely loved watching the drama unfold around them for decades. Of course, their love story also includes children. While Steve is the father to Ava Vitali's son, Tripp, he also shares two children with Kayla, daughter Stephanie, and son Joey (via Soaps).

In recent years, Joey has been on and off the canvas. However, Stephanie has been mostly absent from Salem. Stephanie was born in the early 1990s, and her life has been just as chaotic as her parents'. As a little girl, she was kidnapped by her nanny and has endured sexual assault. Per Soap Central, she's also had many tumultuous relationships with characters such as Jeremy Horton, Nathan Horton, Max Brady, and Philip Kiriakis.

Stephanie has also had a number of very interesting careers, including a stint at Titan and being a flight attendant. She was even a famous race car driver (via Soaps in Depth). "DOOL" fans last saw Stephanie in 2017 when she returned to Salem for her parents' wedding. At the time she was played by actress Shelley Hennig. Now, Stephanie is poised to be back in action in a big way.

If you or anyone you know has been a victim of sexual assault, help is available. Visit the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network website or contact RAINN's National Helpline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).

Abigail Klein joins DOOL as Stephanie Johnson

According to Soaps, "Days of Our Lives" viewers will soon see Stephanie Johnson back on the canvas. The character will be seen on both the NBC soap opera, as well as its spin-off series, "Beyond Salem," which streams on the Peacock app. However, Shelley Hennig, who previously portrayed the character, won't be returning to reprise the role. Henning, who starred in the hit TV drama "Teen Wolf," is busy working on the movie continuation of the series (per Us Weekly), leaving actress Abigail Klein to step into Stephanie's shoes. Klein previously held a small role on "The Young and the Restless," and has also appeared on TV shows such as "GLOW," "Castle," and "90210." In addition to her acting credits, Klein has worked as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader (via IMDb).

"We'll see her first in 'Beyond Salem,'" writer Ron Carlivati revealed (via Soaps). "One of the great things about [the spinoff] is that it gives us an opportunity to catch up with people who have left town, given that almost the entire story takes place in these other locations. This is an example of that. It will be interesting to find out where she is in her life, and what might bring her back to Salem," he added.

When Stephanie does return to Salem she may find her family dynamic changed, since she now has a new half-brother, Tripp. Of course, "DOOL" fans are thrilled that the legacy character is returning, and can't wait to see what's in store for her.
