Who Is Allie On The Young And The Restless?

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) on "The Young and the Restless" has had quite a few shocks over the last few months. First, he started getting mysterious text messages from California that seemed to be from his long-estranged son, Keemo Abbott (Philip Moon). However, an Internet search told him that his son had recently died and nobody even told him (via Soaps.com). That prompted Jack to take a trip out to California, where Keemo last lived, and visit his home.

While he was there, he got two shocks he never expected. One seemed like a dream come true and the other seemed like a nightmare come true. Jack could hardly believe his eyes when his ex-lover and the mother of his other son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), walked into Keemo's living room. How could it be? Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was supposed to be dead. He raised Kyle without a mother because her death seemed very, very real. Then, there was the other shock that made Jack wonder how he could have missed so much of his older son's life. Keemo had a daughter named Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang), which meant Jack had a grown granddaughter (via Soaps In Depth).

Allie didn't know her father's family

Allie Nguyen was shocked when she walked into her father's living room and saw a man there who claimed to be her grandfather. She never even knew who her dad's father was, as he never talked about him. Jack Abbott was able to prove that he was telling the truth when he showed her documentation. He had a photo of her dad from the '90s, along with Keemo's mom, Luan Nguyen Abbott (Elizabeth Sung), when the pair who met in Vietnam during the war finally wed. Allie explained that her parents divorced when she was a child and her mother no longer lived in LA (via Soaps In Depth).

Before Jack knew that Diane Jenkins was alive on "The Young and the Restless," she had decided to present herself to Jack through Allie — although her reasons have yet to be made clear, as of this writing. Calling herself by another name, Diane befriended Allie and bought Keemo's home (via Soaps In Depth). When Allie learned her new friend knew the grandfather she never knew she had, she was in shock and didn't know what to do.

Allie decided to get to know the Abbotts

When Jack Abbott wanted to get to know Allie Nguyen, she told him no. She wasn't sure she could trust this man she never knew about until after her father died. However, she finally came around and showed up in Genoa City, surprising Jack and his family just after they dealt with the fact that Diane Jenkins was really alive. Allie admitted that she wanted to get to know her grandfather, but didn't expect to meet the whole Abbott clan in one fell swoop (via Soap Hub).

When Jack asked Allie why she decided to travel to Genoa City, she told him that her mom had just flown out to Los Angeles to take care of some legal paperwork and refused to even talk to her about her dad and his side of the family. So, she decided that she would learn more about where she came from on her own. As of this writing, Allie has only been in Genoa City a few short days, but she is set to make her mark with the show's young adult set (via Soaps.com).
