The Color Pink Is Taking Over The 2022 Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet
Pretty in pink in France!
As stars descended on Cannes for the 2022 Film Festival, one trend emerged immediately, with stars from around the world donning the "look at me" color of hot pink as well as more subdued shades of the hue. Not only did we spy pink being worn by the likes of "Knives Out" star Katherine Langford, but mega stars such Elle Fanning and Instagram influencers alike must have planned a pink attack ahead of time.
One thing is for sure — as much attention was paid to the movies being screened at the legendary festival as to the stunning fashion. (Psst: A pregnant Adriana Lima chose black for her red carpet moment but totally stole the show with her jaw-dropping statement gown).
Here are our favorite pink looks from Cannes. Anyone else inspired to put on a pink outfit, even if we're only Netflix and chillin'?
Elle Fanning
Elle Fanning looked lovely in an angelic, shimmering gown in soft pink. "The Girl From Plainville" star may have just been seen on the small screen portraying controversial real-life girlfriend Michelle Carter, but Fanning looked like a major Hollywood celebrity when she stepped out in Cannes.
Twitter was buzzing about the showstopping looking, with one person joking they fell to their knees upon seeing the actress. Someone else may have said it best by tweeting the sweet pink dress looked like it was out of a fairytale.
Katherine Langford
Her fashion was out at Cannes, with actress Katherine Langford dominating the red carpet in a hot pink bra top and matching coat-style gown with a train. The look was avante garde and classic all at once and we can't stop admiring the star's choice for the event.
As Langford walked the carpet ahead of the "Top Gun: Maverick" premiere, it was also about her attitude. The "13 Reasons Why" star knew she looked incredible in this fuchsia ensemble and yes, everyone took notice, girl.
Leonie Hanne
You may not know the name but you won't forget her dress. Model Leonie Hanne was a vision in what she called a "dream dress" on Instagram, which was designed by Nicole + Felicia Couture, just for her. About wearing the luxuriously layered gown to the Cannes Film Festival, the Instagram influencer also said, "what a pinch me moment!"
Hanne then joked that given the voluminous nature of the pink confection, that she might need an entirely new apartment to fit it. We say her memorable red carpet moment makes a lease worth it!
Chelsea Harris
"Top Gun: Maverick" star Chelsea Harris created another "look at me" red carpet moment at Cannes with her gorgeously-cascading pink, ruffled skirt, paired with a luxe-looking black bodice featuring indulgent bows.
Harris was not the last star to choose pink for the event, with actress Rebecca Hall and many other international stars making sure pink enjoyed a major moment in Cannes (via Vanity Fair).
