All The Actresses Who Have Played Jordan Ashford On General Hospital

When Jordan Ashford first appeared on "General Hospital" in 2014, she was intent on reconnecting with her teenage son T.J. Ashford. At the time, everyone believed her to be a criminal associated with drug trafficking but the truth was that she was an undercover DEA agent. Over the years, Jordan gave up her undercover work, reconnected with her son, fell in love with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), and even became the Police Commissioner of Port Charles (via Soaps in Depth).

Her time on the show hasn't been without its struggles, however. The road to winning back her son's trust was long and winding and she was tasked with several tough investigations in her professional life. Jordan also suffered severe injuries from a car accident which caused her continuous health issues.

The character has been played by several actresses over the years, and it looks like Jordan has returned to Port Charles after a months-long absence. She has a good relationship with her son, is back to work in law enforcement, and is romantically unattached.

Vinessa Antoine originated the role of Jordan Ashford

Actress Vinessa Antoine had worked on several TV shows over the years, including "Being Erica" and "Heartland" before she joined the cast of "General Hospital" in 2014. Antoine originated the role of Jordan Ashford — a woman thought to be a convicted felon and mob drug dealer who was actually an undercover DEA agent. Antoine remained in the role for several years until she left in 2018 when she was cast in the lead role of the Canadian show "Diggstown" which ran for three seasons.

During Antoine's time on "GH," her character dealt with several tough situations and was forced to reveal many lies she had told throughout her life. One of the reasons Jordan had come to Port Charles was to reconnect with her teenage son T.J. Ashford whom she'd had to leave behind due to her undercover work (via Soap Central). T.J. was being cared for by Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore), the former friend of T.J.'s father Tommy Ashford who had died when he was young. Not long after Jordan came to town, she and Shawn made the decision to explain to T.J. that Shawn had shot and killed Tommy in self-defense when he discovered that the two were having an affair. This was tough enough for T.J. to swallow, but later he was also informed that Shawn was his biological father, not Tommy.

To make things more complicated, Tommy's brother and T.J.'s uncle Curtis Ashford showed up in town and he and Jordan became involved. The role of Jordan Ashford was recast just before her and Curtis' wedding, per SoapHub.

Briana Nicole Henry became the second Jordan Ashford

Briana Nicole Henry had previous soap experience playing the role of Esmerelda on "The Young and the Restless" from 2013 to 2014, before she joined "General Hospital" in 2018. She had the tough task of winning over viewers as she was recast in a role just before a major development in the character's life — a wedding.

Soon after Henry's arrival on the soap, Jordan Ashford and her new hubby Curtis Ashford were thrust into the search for a serial killer in Port Charles (via Soaps in Depth). Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) was exposed as the murderer and was also a donor match to Jordan who was in need of a kidney transplant after being struck by a car. Curtis and Ryan's twin Kevin Collins (also played by Jon Lindstrom) hatched a plan to give Ryan's kidney to Jordan and their efforts were a success.

Later, Jordan's ex-DEA partner (and "GH" alum) Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) showed up in town (via Soaps). Several of their old partners were turning up dead and they realized it was at the hand of drug trafficking kingpin Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) who they had put away years ago. Throughout Jordan's search for Cyrus (which included helping Taggert fake his own death) her marriage to Curtis began to deteriorate. In 2021, the two filed for divorce just before she suffered an injury that further damaged her kidneys. Henry had decided to leave the show and Jordan was sent away for medical treatment for several months, per Michael Fairman TV. Since leaving the soap, fans and co-stars have congratulated Henry on welcoming her first child.

Tanisha Harper is the newest Jordan Ashford

Tanisha Harper had a successful career in modeling and acting work before she was cast as the new Jordan Ashford in early 2022. Since Harper's arrival, Jordan has returned from her medical treatment in good health and returned to her duties as Port Charles Police Commissioner.

Curtis Ashford is now in a relationship with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) who is the ex-wife of Marcus Taggert, creating an interesting love quadrangle between the four (via Soap Dirt). Though Curtis has seemingly moved on with Portia, it's been hinted that Jordan still has feelings for her ex. Additionally, back in 2021 Curtis' Aunt Stella (Vernee Watson Johnson) had stolen Jordan and Curtis' divorce papers before they'd been filed, then suffered a stroke and forgot what she'd done (via Soaps in Depth). It's likely that Jordan and Curtis are still married, and if soap history gives any indication, the reveal is sure to come at the most inopportune moment.

Harper has only been on the soap scene for a few months so viewers will have to continue to tune in to see what new challenges get thrown her way and how she brings her own spin to this strong character.
