Why Jennifer Aniston Had Viewers Of The 2022 Daytime Emmys In Tears

The 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards were exciting for fans of the genre. After having to pause the in-person ceremony for two years, all were reunited in person again, this time in Pasadena, California (via U.S. News).

This year, the hosts of "Entertainment Tonight," Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner, guided fans through a night of big daytime TV wins. "General Hospital" took home the most awards, including those for best supporting actor and actress, best director, and best daytime drama (per Variety).

While there was much to celebrate during the show, there were also a lot of overwhelming emotions. Just hours before the ceremony kicked off, the Supreme Court ruled to overturn Roe v. Wade, and of course, the hosts of the show couldn't help but comment on the events, making a sly remark in the opening monologue. Plus, soap opera legend Susan Lucci was there, leading a heartbreaking moment of remembrance for the stars lost this year. Even an unexpected actress had viewers in tears during the show!

A special moment between Jennifer Aniston and her father had Twitter in tears

When you think of the Daytime Emmy Awards, Jennifer Aniston is likely not the first actress to come to mind. While she is certainly a legend in the industry, having over 70 acting credits to her name, she is more thought of for her roles in films and primetime TV (via IMDb).

However, Aniston has a connection to the daytime television world. Her father, John Aniston, starred as Victor Kiriakis on "Days of Our Lives," originating the character back in the '80s and playing that role for 35 years (via Wide Open Country).

During the 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards, he was presented with the lifetime achievement award, which his daughter presented to him. The heartfelt moment had fans in their feelings. One fan posted to Twitter, "JENNIFER ANISTON IS AT THE DAYTIME EMMYS VIA VIDEO BRB GONNA GO CRY." Another added, "I KNEW they would have Jennifer Aniston present the Lifetime Achievement award to her dad! Those old #DAYS clips of John Aniston throughout the years brought tears to my eyes #DaytimeEmmys."

There wasn't a dry eye in the house as the Anistons celebrated John's incredible career!
