This year, the hosts of "Entertainment Tonight," Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner, guided fans through a night of big daytime TV wins. "General Hospital" took home the most awards, including those for best supporting actor and actress, best director, and best daytime drama (per Variety).
While there was much to celebrate during the show, there were also a lot of overwhelming emotions. Just hours before the ceremony kicked off, the Supreme Court ruled to overturn Roe v. Wade, and of course, the hosts of the show couldn't help but comment on the events, making a sly remark in the opening monologue. Plus, soap opera legend Susan Lucci was there, leading a heartbreaking moment of remembrance for the stars lost this year. Even an unexpected actress had viewers in tears during the show!
A special moment between Jennifer Aniston and her father had Twitter in tears
When you think of the Daytime Emmy Awards, Jennifer Aniston is likely not the first actress to come to mind. While she is certainly a legend in the industry, having over 70 acting credits to her name, she is more thought of for her roles in films and primetime TV (via IMDb).
However, Aniston has a connection to the daytime television world. Her father, John Aniston, starred as Victor Kiriakis on "Days of Our Lives," originating the character back in the '80s and playing that role for 35 years (via Wide Open Country).
During the 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards, he was presented with the lifetime achievement award, which his daughter presented to him. The heartfelt moment had fans in their feelings.
