Kate Middleton Reportedly Has A Big Request For Prince Harry

The once-tight bond between Prince William and Prince Harry has reportedly been broken for quite some time. Since Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 — and followed the move up with a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey — the brothers have been at odds. In fact, friends say their relationship is at "rock bottom."

"[William] alternates between grieving for what he has lost and feeling really, really angry about what his brother has done," one pal told Daily Mail. "He truly loves Harry and feels he has lost the only person, aside from his wife, who understood this strange life of theirs. But he believes there are things you just don't do. And Harry has 100% crossed that line."

William and Harry reportedly did not have any private interactions at Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee, per Daily Beast. Harry and Meghan were also excluded from standing on the royal balcony during the Trooping the Colour. And while William and his family — wife Kate Middleton and their three children — were invited to the first birthday party for Harry and Meghan's daughter, Lilibet, they were unable to attend because of a previously scheduled trip to Wales, according to Express.

But while William and Harry seem as distant as ever, Kate is not giving up hope that their relationship can be mended.

Kate Middleton wants Prince Harry to attend his brother's 40th birthday party

Kate Middleton is holding out an olive branch to Prince Harry, hoping that he might travel back to the UK for her and Prince William's joint 40th birthday party. "According to a very good source, [she] is very keen for Harry to be invited," royal expert Neil Sean revealed on his YouTube channel. "[Although] no mention of Meghan, I noted in the quote I was told. Apparently, she thinks this would be an actual great way of bonding together. Birthdays are a time, as she's pointed out, of celebration, families, and having loved ones around you."

There is no word yet on whether Harry has accepted the invite. Harry and Kate have always had a close bond, with the Duke of Sussex describing her as "the sister I never had," per Now to Love. As a result, Kate tried to get the brothers together during Prince Philip's funeral in 2021, and has made it a point to reach out to Harry and Meghan Markle after their move to California.

"Kate wrote, sent gifts for Archie and again for little Lilibet when she was born," a source explained (via Now to Love). "Harry always appreciated that. He also appreciated Kate keeping him company at Prince Philip's funeral last year when the rest of the family wouldn't go near him. When it was just him and Kate chatting away, it felt like old times."
