Kate Middleton And Camilla Parker Bowles Are Collaborating On An Exciting New Project

Camilla Parker Bowles is set to turn 75 next week. Not that she's too excited about that prospect. As Prince Charles's wife told British Vogue in an interview marking the occasion, "Who wants to be 75, really, but there's nothing we can do about it."

While the Duchess of Cornwall is said to be planning a quiet family celebration, there is one way in which she is embracing her birthday publicly. Camilla has been invited to guest edit Country Life magazine (via Newsweek). As the publication shared in an announcement about the collaboration, the Prince of Wales has edited Country Life twice. "The Duchess's issue will reflect her love of horses and dogs," the outlet further noted, adding that Camilla would also be sharing a favorite recipe.

The issue, to be released on July 13, 2022, will also feature another personal touch. Because the formerly controversial royal has asked a very special person to photograph her for the cover.

Kate Middleton is the photographer of the family

It makes sense that Camilla Parker Bowles has asked her daughter-in-law Kate Middleton to photograph her for the issue of Country Life she has guest edited to commemorate her 75th birthday (via Newsweek). After all, Kate has been enjoying turning her passion into a hobby for years, and often shares photographs of her family with the public.

According to royal expert Camilla Tominey, Kate took inspiration from Queen Victoria of Sweden, who snaps pics of her brood so that too-eager paparazzi are discouraged from getting the coveted images (via Cosmopolitan and Yahoo!). From portraits of her kids on their birthdays, to candid snaps of the royals enjoying time together, the Duchess of Cambridge has become quite well known for her intimate photographs.

Given that Kate clearly has a true talent for capturing the best in her family members, she truly was the natural choice for Camilla to task with getting the perfect picture for her magazine cover.

Kate Middleton's photograph shows a different side of Camilla Parker Bowles

Royal fans get to see another side of Camilla Parker Bowles in the casual image of the future queen consort, taken by Kate Middleton in the soon-to-be 75-year-old's garden (via People).

In an Instagram post debuting the colorful portrait of Camilla dressed down in a floral dress and blue cardigan, the magazine credited the royal photographer responsible for the appealing shot. "Her Royal Highness invited The Duchess of Cambridge to capture the cover image at her home in Wiltshire, Raymill," the caption confirmed.

In a subsequent image added to the post, we even get to see Kate in action behind the camera — and wearing jeans! Indeed, a very casual Kate is seen bending down in an effort to snap a cover-worthy photograph of her mother-in-law.

Comments to the photo of Camilla were very complimentary, and the editor-in-chief of the publication was also "thrilled" by the result. "We understand this is the first time a formal portrait of The Duchess of Cornwall has been taken by The Duchess of Cambridge for a magazine, and we are honored to have been chosen to be the first to publish this beautiful photograph," Mark Hedges said, adding the magazine would love to work with the mom of three again in the future.
